(NaturalNews) Scientists have long puzzled over the reasons sleep is so important. Brian Preston from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany, and an international team of researchers just published research that backs up their theory sleep improves the function of the immune system --and it may specifically protect animals from being overrun by parasite infections.
According to a study just published in the journal BMC Evolutionary Biology, species of animals that get substantial sleep not only have a greater concentration of immune cells in their blood, they also are able to stave off more parasite infections than other creatures. "We suggest that sleep fuels the immune system. While awake, animals must be ready to meet multiple demands on a limited energy supply, including the need to search for food, acquire mates, and provide parental care. When asleep, animals largely avoid these costly activities, and can thus allocate resources to the body`s natural defenses," Dr. Preston said in a media statement.
The scientists studied sleep in mammals, analyzed the animals` immune system measurements, and looked at numbers of infections with parasites. They found mammals that have evolved to have longer sleep cycles have more circulating immune cells and fewer infections with parasites like intestinal worms.
So what do these findings have to do with human health? Possibly, a lot. The researchers conclude: "Given the declines in human sleep durations that have occurred over the past few decades, there is a clear need for studies that further clarify the immunological significance of sleep."
Bottom line: add getting enough sleep to a healthy lifestyle in order to keep your immune system strong and able to fight parasites, which are now throughout the world -- not only in developing countries. For example, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), around 14 percent of the U.S. population is infected with Toxocara, or internal roundworms, and some 60million people in the United States are likely infected with Toxoplasma gondii, a parasite associated with raw meat and contact with cat feces. In addition, a report on food borne parasites prepared for the Food Research Institute at the University of Wisconsin in 2003 found about two and a half million cases of food and waterborne Giardia lamblia and three million cases of Cryptosporidium parvum in the U.S. annually. Both these parasites are transmitted through drinking water contaminated with the fecal material of infected persons. The World Health Organization (WHO) ranks parasites as among the six most dangerous diseases that infect humans.
Parasites in humans can cause intestinal discomfort, bloating gas and chronic constipation or diarrhea. Although drugs can be prescribed to kill parasites, many herbs and foods have traditionally been used to treat parasite infections . According to the University of Maryland Medical School web site, these include: raw garlic, pumpkin seeds, pomegranates, beets, and carrots, all of which have antiworm properties.

Two New Studies Document Natural Breast Cancer Fighters
(NaturalNews) A couple of words strike enormous fear in the hearts of countless women: breast cancer. And it's no wonder. American Cancer Society (ACS) statistics reveal it's the most common cancer among women in the United States, other than skin cancer. In fact, the ACS says a woman's chance of having invasive Breast Cancer some time during her life is about 1 in 8 and her chance of dying from the disease is about 1 in 35. However, there is a growing body of scientific evidence that natural substances are formidable weapons to both prevent Breast Cancer and halt its growth once cells are malignant. In fact, two new studies offer even more proof there are natural ways to fight breast cancer.
In research just published in the journal Crop Science, Colorado State University scientists studied the anti-cancer activity of six kinds of dry legumes: small red, great northern, navy, black, dark red and white kidney beans. Working with laboratory animals, they evaluated how the consumption of beans was related to breast, or mammary, cancer. The results? Consumption of every kind of bean reduced the incidence of cancer and tumor in the animals compared to the control group.
The rate of cancer was reduced significantly, from 95% in the control group to 67% in animals fed beans, and the average number of malignant tumors fell from 3.2 in the control group to 1.4 tumors per animal in the bean-fed group. In a statement for the media, the researchers noted that studies are ongoing at Colorado State University to investigate the mechanisms and molecules that contribute to these anticancer properties of legumes. In addition, clinical trials are also underway to find out if beans in the diets of humans have an impact on cancer incidence.
There's also good news about vitamin D and breast cancer. The vitamin already has been shown in hundreds of studies to have breast cancer-fighting properties and increased serum levels of the vitamin are associated with an improved diagnosis in women with breast cancer (http://www.naturalnews.com/025495.html). But now scientists at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ)-New Jersey Medical School have discovered how calcitrol, the active form of vitamin D, halts the growth of breast cancer cells. The study is published in the February issue of The Journal of Biological Chemistry.
Researcher Sylvia Chistakos, Ph.D., a professor of biochemistry UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, and colleague Puneet Dhawan, Ph.D., found calcitrol induces a tumor-suppressing protein that can stop the malignant cells in their tracks. "These results provide an important process in which the active form of vitamin D may work to reduce growth of breast cancer cells," Dr. Christakos said in a media statement.

(NaturalNews) Is it possible that wearing a bra can actually cause cancer? Studies show that this is a very real possibility. The reason is that regularly wearing a bra prevents lymph drainage and circulation, which can greatly increase the possibility of developing breast cancer.
The lymphatic and circulatory systems are responsible for both delivering vital nutrients and clearing out toxins. When the body does not have access to nutrients or when it is under the attack of toxins, cancer may develop.
A study published in the European Journal of Cancer studied factors for Breast Cancer such as breast size and handedness. They discovered that premenopausal women who do not wear bras are less than half as likely to get Breast Cancer that those who regularly wear a bra. A study conducted by researcher David Moth revealed that even the lightest bras place pressure on the lymphatic system.
Other research published in Chronobiology International in 2000 discovered that regular bra wearing decreases the production of melatonin, which is a potent natural antioxidant and the hormone that regulates sleep, boosts the immune system and, incredibly fights aging. Balanced melatonin levels are essential for the body to fight many types of cancer, including breast cancer.
Researchers Singer and Grismaijer observed 4,500 women and their bra wearing practices. An amazing 3 out of 4 women who wore their bras 24 hours per day developed breast cancer. Women who wore their bras more than 12 hours per day had a 1 in 7 chance of getting breast cancer. 1 out 152 women who wore their bra less than 12 hours a day got Breast Cancer and an incredibly low 1 out of 168 women who rarely or never wear a bra developed breast cancer.
These same researchers studied the indigenous populations of New Zealand and Australia. The Maoris, who are indigenous to New Zealand, are basically fully integrated into mainstream New Zealand life and interestingly have the same chances of developing breast cancer. The aboriginals of Australia on the other hand have not integrated into regular western society and do not regularly wear bras, and have practically no breast cancer. Japanese, Fijians, and many women from other cultures were found to have a significantly higher chance of developing breast cancer when they began wearing bras.
It may be interesting to note that a very small proportion of men do develop breast cancer, exactly the same amount as women who go braless!

Today I retrieved the old info from the past website I had called Longevity Spices / The No Crash Way. Hopefully I can reuse most of the pictures and edit the info to fit the 2009 formula/theory. I always will believe the fruit smoothie is the best way for the average person that doesn't like the taste of herbs and the perfect way to consume non-fresh picked foods.
Virtually all theories will start with the All "N" One kit, so for 2009 the All "N" One product will be in the No Crash Smoothie and not the Longevity Spices...but naturally the spices was great...but a bit too powerful for the average consumer that does not like the taste of cayenne and garlic.

I had ordered 6 of the battery powered room sprayers that claimed they had refillable bottles...seems the bottles are sealed and you have to buy new ones each time. I had to cut a hole in the top of the bottle and pour out their liquid which was the most god awful smelling stuff you can imagine.....washed the bottle many times, filled it with spray III and turned it on......the reason the stupid thing cost so much, is it is loaded with electronic controls that allows you to pick days, times, etc...and how often to spray, skip weeken, etc......all b/s in my opinion, but a way for the asian electronic genuses to show off and charge way too much $$$$$$$$$ for something that could have been made simple....I mean the thing is all digital read out, knows the time and dates, etc......stuff I don't need.
The most I can make it spray is every 7 minutes....1 poof! My plug is not the greatest because the plastic bottle is cheap made, very thin and this first experiement is not spill proof...next plug ill use a o ring, etc.....
So I could set this on my bed stand, by your chair, in a kids bedroom, etc......the uses are unlimited to the imagination....THE IDEA IS GREAT, we just need a screw cap bottle and it would be an act of creation that could turn anyhome into your own treatment center......
SPRAY III
When I first made it, it was STRONG SMELLING....but now I am so use to stronger formulas, I honestly can't smell Spray III at all, but to a new person; 1 spray in a house would make them think you sprayed an herbal bomb...
I am sure I could set this in the kids bedroom after they go to sleep and they would never know it....
Ideas
1. make a SMART FORMULA...feeding the child's BRAIN...easily done! Making of grade A kids a doable thing!
2. Calming/Sleeping formula....

4. Spiritual formula.....a lifetime experiment...
5. Sickness formula- heal while your sleeping, heck, you can de-worm while your sleeping! You in my theory, should be able to cure cancer, while you sleep and surely avoid all sickness, while you sleep...all to some degree based on diet and habits while your awake...
6. weight reducing formula while you sleep.....may be possible and I am sure I can make a formula for the house, that would help stop hunger pains....
7. All diseases have the possibility to be treated with out the person ever knowing it.....they will get use to any of these herb smells quickly and if they don't know the source, they probably just think it is one of those smelly candles/flower things that women put in homes to stick them up....
8. FOR the true self-experimenter...the most powerful smelling herbs on earth could be used...so powerful any sick person that gets near your living space would cought their fool head off and run away...
9. Keep demons away while you sleep....probably the original uses for herbal spices dating back to ancient times.....
The Machine has possibilities, but not a saleable item because of the bottle....so close! A true engineer connected with the making of bottles could fix the problem at basically no extra cost to the product....and all the electronic crap could be avoided and reduce the price by $50 and make it affordable to all....
This will take the herbal spray theory into a whole new level....."IF" I had usable bottle, I would make sure every person was doing this....otherwise a person would need to do as I had to, cut a hole in the bottle and pour out their poisons and then find a plug method......

While I sleep, I will be sprayed every 7 minutes,probably for the rest of my life....I wish it sprayed more, so who knows, maybe fire all 6 up and have them all spraying the bedroom!!!!! For the most part, the nose clogs or is never healthy because there was too much starch in the diet and the adnoids ruptured and the diet never corrected enough to cure them. So the nasal passages are restricked and easily clog at nightime and make sleeping near impossible.
No one has a natural cure for this, if you found one, you would be making millions over night.
The potato and grains along with eggs/proteins and all dairy are the root causes and as long as the diet sucks, the cure doesn't exist.
With the Air Restore herbal formula, it is 50% lobelia. Dr. Christopher believed in Lobelia more than any other herb and used 10 pages in his book for it. He truly believed Lobelia to be a "thinking" herb, in that it would go where the body needed help; so he often used it in formulas with the theory it would take the herbs to the correct places.

I have noticed late at night when the air breather has problems, a dropper can even be used on a baby with amazing results fast, but only well experienced parents have any right to be self-experiementing in such ways.
With the clogged tight nose that wakes you up with the added sore throat, etc., etc...I have seen a dropper taken every few minutes by mixing with saliva always before swallowing than maybe after 4-5 droppers in a very sort period, in minutes your nose might all of a sudden be relaxed and go wide open and air restored enough to go to sleep.
With these types of problems the lobelia seems to go to the nose and not so much to the lungs as it would under normal conditions and thus you don't hack up as much the next day as you might think you would with such a large dose.
In any case, lobleia is a life saving herb, it can mean the differance between life and death when the body is over reacting and swells so tight that it restricts the throat and can be fatal if not rushed to the er. Also in cases of poisoning, it seems to relax the reaction of the body and swelling stops, etc...
For these reasons and tons more (Dr. Shulze loves it as much as Christopher did) 200 years ago it was said you could treat any disease with Lobelia and cayenne.
These herbs have properties that make them be expelled in certain types of membranes and that is how Dr. Christopher knew what herbs to use to open a congested part of the body..The body does not wnat the herbs and seeks to expell them and as it expells them, it often cleans house and along out goes the congestion and the herbs gets the credit. Are we made to drink the milk of another species?
(NaturalNews) Knowing about the health benefits of raw milk is not enough. In his book The Devil in the Milk, Dr. Kevin Woodford says we have one more lesson to learn: there is a link between the type of milk we drink and a range of serious illnesses, including heart disease, Type 1 diabetes, autism and schizophrenia. Epidemiological evidence from ten countries has demonstrated a strong association between high intake of milk from A1 positive cows and high incidence of these diseases, and has correlated very closely with World Health Organization data on the level of deaths from mental disorders.
Dr. Woodford, Professor of Farm Management and Agribusiness at Lincoln University in New Zealand, points out that milk consists of three parts: fat or cream, whey, and milk solids. The devil resides in the milk solids, composed of many different proteins along with lactose and other sugars. One of these proteins is beta casein.
All proteins are long chains of amino acids that have many branches coming off of the main chain. Beta casein is a chain with 229 amino acids and proline at number 67, at least in old fashioned cows, the ones that are A2. These include Guernseys, Jerseys, Asian and African cows. About five thousand years ago, a mutation occurred in this proline amino acid, converting it to histidine. Cows that have this mutated beta casein are the A1 cows. These are more recent breeds in the span of history, like Holsteins and Friesians.
The side chain coming off this histidine is a protein fragment known as beta-casomorphin-7 (BCM 7). The negative health effects of this fragment can be devastating because it is a powerful opiate or narcotic as well as an oxidant. Dr. Thomas Cowan has thought all along that something was "not quite right" on the milk issue. Writing for the Bovine, he says that many of his patients, in spite of trying to eat only the proper dairy products still have illnesses and are unable to tolerate milk. He has suspected "the story with milk wasn't quite finished."
In his attempt to finish the milk story, Woodford brings together a pile of evidence from more than 100 scientific papers examining population studies and research with both animals and humans. He explains the Science underpinning the A1/A2 hypothesis and shows that BCM 7 is associated with milk intolerance and a range of auto-immune diseases including Type 1 diabetes, the diabetes that usually occurs during childhood or young adulthood. In people with Type 1 diabetes, the body destroys its own insulin-producing cells.
There is an important difference between the human beta casein protein and the beta-casein produced by A1 cows. All human beta-casein is more like the A2 type, meaning that human milk releases much less BCM 7 than is released in A1 milk. When New Zealand researchers tested human milk, they found less than 1% of the BCM 7 than was released from the same amount of A1 milk. This means that the narcotic effect from human milk fed to babies is less than one thousandth of that found in A1 milk.
BCM7 has been shown to cause neurological impairment in animals and people, particularly autistic and schizophrenic changes. It also interferes with the immune response. Animals injected with BCM 7 can be provoked into Type 1 diabetes. BCM 7 is pro-inflammatory to blood vessels, and selectively binds to epithelial cells in mucus membranes such as the nose and throat, where it can stimulate excessive mucus secretion.
When BCM 7 is released into the gut, it should be difficult for it to get through the gut wall and into the bloodstream because it is a fairly large molecule. But in people with leaky gut syndrome, it is able to pass easily through the gut wall and enter the bloodstream. Dr. Woodford states that BCM 7 can be detected in urine. According to him there is strong evidence that people with stomach ulcers or untreated celiac disease also absorb BCM 7 in this manner. Babies are likely to absorb it this way too, because their gut walls are able to pass large molecules easily into the blood stream. That is how they are able to absorb their mother's colostrum.
This susceptibility of babies to the effects BCM 7 makes infant milk formula products from A1 cows a very poor choice. Opioids like BCM 7 slow the rate of passage through the digestive tract which explains to Dr. Woodford why babies fed on cows milk formula products rather than human milk are susceptible to constipation and can suffer anal fissures. He suggests it is possible that this slower passage of A1 milk through the digestive system may increase lactose intolerance.
He views early and prolonged exposure to BCM 7 in infant formulas as a significant factor in the rising rates of autism and Asperger's syndrome along with the rest of the range of disease states that can result, and he is pushing for research on the topic. Until this is done, he suggests that mothers breastfeed their babies for as long as possible and insist on breast milk substitutes made with A2 milk.
The reasons for the mutation that produces BCM 7 is unknown, occurring many thousands of years ago. The A1 beta casein gene spread rapidly in many countries in the western world. Speculation has it that the spread of A1 cows resulted from their calves drinking A1 milk and being exposed to the opiate BCM 7, making them more docile than the older breeds. As a result, basically all American dairy cows have mutated beta-casein and are predominantly A1.
It is not known whether BCM 7 is likely to be a problem in cheese, ice-cream, yogurt, or other milk products. The French did not accept the A1 breeds of cows, and the delicious cheeses of France are made with A2 milk. In the U.S. there is only one A2 dairy so far, located in Firth Nebraska.
Absorption of BCM 7 is much less in people with healthy digestive tracts, suggesting that maintaining digestive health should be a priority in anyone drinking milk in countries with predominately A1 cows. One of the best ways to achieve this is with daily use of probiotics.
What can we do about the fact that we have the wrong cows? BCM 7 is not found in goat's or sheep's milk which are A2, so drinking their milk instead of milk from cows is an option. Changing over a dairy herd of cows from A1 to A2 is simple and cheap, and it can be accomplished in less than ten years. It requires only that farmers inseminate their cows, naturally or artificially, with semen from A2A2 bulls. In New Zealand, farmers have already started converting their herds in anticipation of rising consumer demand for A2 milk. An added bonus for them is some recently published research revealing that on average New Zealand A2 cows produce more milk than A1 cows. Dairy farmers in the U.S. may be well advised to begin the switch to A2 as soon as possible to be able to market A2 milk products as consumer demand rises in the face of these findings.
This rosy scenario assumes no politics get in the way of an easy changeover, which could be a big assumption. Since the issue of the link between A1 milk and Type 1 diabetes and heart disease was initially raised in early 2003, the New Zealand Food Standards Authority has demonstrated clearly that in the battle between the interests of the dairy industry and those of public health, the industry always wins. As usual, scientific evidence can be molded and withheld by those with vested interests, and consumer choices can be manipulated by corporate interests.

(NewsTarget) Dairy products are one of the most common foods consumed around the world. Some cultures survive on diets consisting of up to 80% raw cow,
goat, &/or sheep milk. In the western world, however, dairy has become one of the most inflammatory foods. A recent discovery shows that a genetic
shift in the casein molecule has produced a powerful toxin linked to numerous disorders and diseases.
Milk contains two primary protein molecules: whey and casein. Casein makes up about 80% of the protein in the milk. Casein is made up of 209 amino acids
strung together in sequence. The 2 primary forms of casein are: A1 Beta Casein and A2 Beta Casein. These 2 are nearly identical in structure except for the
amino acid at position 67. A1 contains histidine while A2 contains proline.
The bond between histidine and its linked amino acids is much weaker and much more easily broken than the bonding of proline in A2. This splitting happens
during the digestive process and creates a peptide called beta casomorphin 7 (BCM7). BCM7 is an opioid, which gives it morphine-like qualities. This
creates rampant oxidative stress in the gut and blood stream.
BCM7 is a 7 amino acid peptide that is resistant to degradation. It takes very strong immune responses to break this molecule down effectively. This immune
response often takes place in the gut and causes digestive distress and leaky gut syndrome. The most susceptible individuals are those who already have
digestive problems and infants who naturally have increased intestinal permeability.
When BCM7 passes into the bloodstream, it is able to cross through the blood brain barrier. In the brain, it can bind to opioid receptors and cause
symptoms of schizophrenia, autism, and other mood and neurodevelopmental issues. Research performed on rats has shown autistic and schizophrenic type
behavioral changes after the rats were injected with BCM7.
A1 beta
and its byproduct BCM7 have also been linked to cases of type I diabetes, digestive disorders, neurodegenerative disorders and heart disease. These issues

Avoiding A1 Beta Casein:
It can be quite challenging to enjoy dairy products and avoid A1 Beta Casein in the western hemisphere. You certainly have to look for specific breeds of
cow that will not be labeled at the grocery store. A1 beta casein is produced by cattle belonging to the Bos Taurus subspecies, which is the primary breed
of cattle in the western hemisphere. The Guernsey breeds produce only about 10% of their beta casein as A1 while the Jersey breed produces about 35%. The
Ayrshire, Holstein, and Frisian breeds tend to produce 50% or more.
Goats do not produce A1 beta casein making their
and dairy products. The `land of milk and honey` that was described in the bible is thought to be a reference to raw, goat milk and raw honey. Raw milk
from grass-fed animals without A1 beta casein has a number of amazing health benefits due to the healthy omega 6:3 ratios, conjugated linoleic acid, and
other immune supportive properties.
Organic butter from a grass-fed cow is still very healthy regardless of the breed of cow because it contains little to no protein. Research has found that
cheese, yogurt, and fermented milk products from A1 beta casein containing breeds produce around the same amount of BCM7 as regular milk. These products
should only be consumed from breeds of cow that produce very little A1 beta casein or none at all.

(NaturalNews) Research by two Kansas State University scientists could help with the large-scale cultivation and manufacturing of oil-rich algae in oceans for biofuel. K-State's Zhijian "Z.J." Pei, associate professor of industrial and manufacturing systems engineering, and Wenqiao "Wayne" Yuan, assistant professor of biological and agricultural engineering, have received a $98,560 Small Grant for Exploratory Research from the National Science Foundation to study solid carriers for manufacturing algae biofuels in the ocean.
Algae are a diverse and simple group of organisms that live in or near water. Certain algal species are high in oil content that could be converted into such fuels as biodiesel, according to Pei and Yuan. Algae also have several environmentally-friendly advantages over corn or other plants used for biofuels, including not needing soil or fresh water to grow.
Pei and Yuan plan to identify attributes of algae and properties of materials that enable growth of certain algae species on solid carriers. Solid carriers float on the water surface for algae to attach to and grow on.
"Not all materials are equally suitable to make these carriers," Yuan said. "Some materials are better for algal attachment and growth than others, and we will be identifying what those 'good' materials are."
The project could help with the design of major equipment for manufacturing algae biofuels from the ocean, including solid carriers, in-the-ocean algae harvesting equipment and oil extraction machines, Pei said.
"This research aims to develop a cost-effective process for growing algae on solid carriers in the ocean for biofuel manufacturing," he said. "If successful, it will greatly benefit the energy security of the United States, as well as society in general."
The research will be conducted with a two-step approach.
"Selected algae species will be grown on solid carriers in a simulated ocean environment and will be evaluated for their ability to attach to solid carriers and grow in seawater, their biomass productivity, and their oil content," Pei said. "Top-ranked species in step one will be selected to test the performance of several carrier materials, including natural organic, synthetic organic and inorganic materials, with the same evaluation parameters as in step one."
Pei said the properties of the highly-ranked carriers also will be analyzed.
Yuan, who has studied biodiesel for several years, said the major problem with making the fuel has been finding sustainable oil and fat sources.
"Algae seems to be the only promising sustainable oil source for biodiesel production," he said. "In my lab, we have several different projects involving algae and we have been trying different ways to grow it. We have already obtained some encouraging results."
Pei said the project also will have an educational benefit, with K-State College of Engineering graduate and undergraduate students to be involved in the multidisciplinary research.
Pei, a K-State faculty member since 2000, has expertise in new process development, process modeling of silicon wafering, and traditional and nontraditional machining processes. Pei earned his bachelor's from the Zhengzhou Institute of Technology and his master's from the Beijing Institute of Technology, both in China. His doctorate is from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Yuan, who joined K-State in 2006, has research interests in biofuels and biomaterials, diesel engine combustion and performance, and algae photobioreactor and bioprocessing systems. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from China Agricultural University, and his doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

(NaturalNews) Scientists have increasingly warned that a hasty switch from fossil fuels to biofuels may actually accelerate global warming rather than helping to avert it, leading U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown to DE CLARE his opposition to new European uniion biofuel standards that will soon be going into effect.
Recent studies have suggested that clearing forests to grow biofuel crops would release more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere than the fuels' use would save.
"If one started to use biofuels ... and in reality that policy led to an increase in greenhouse gases rather than a decrease, that would obviously be insane," said Bob Watson, chief scientific adviser for the United Kingdom's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. "It would certainly be a perverse outcome."
"There are real problems with the unsustainability of biofuels," said John Beddington, chief scientific adviser for the British government in a recent speech. He warned that the massive demand for biofuels from the United States has already led to land being taken out of food production for biofuel crops, delivering a "major shock" to food prices around the world.
The criticism comes only days ahead of a deadline for the diesel and gasoline in all European uniion countries to contain 2.5 percent biofuels. Under European uniion rules, 5.75 percent of all gasoline and diesel must come from "renewable" sources by 2010.
Citing concerns about biofuel impacts, Brown has DE CLAREd his opposition to the new quotas. While the United Kingdom is obligated by law to abide by the 2010 targets, the British government is expected to oppose efforts to raise that quote to 10 percent by 2020.
"I take extremely seriously concerns about the impact of biofuels on deforestation, precious habitats and on food security," Brown said. "The United Kingdom is working to ensure a European sustainability standard is introduced as soon as possible, and we will not support an increase in biofuels over current target levels until an effective standard is in place."

(NaturalNews) On June 27th of this year the NY times reported that The Bureau of Land Management put a two year moratorium on all government applications for solar energy production on public lands (1).
They did this out of concern for "Environmental impact". You are probably re-reading those first couple of sentences and thinking "how is this possible?", how can The Bureau of Land Management actually think that by pulling the "plug" on these applications and freezing any and all forward motion on public solar projects -- on what is estimated to be over 119 million surface acres of usable land, mostly throughout the southwest -- be a responsible and intelligent decision?
They can't, because no less than a week later they decided to reverse their decision due to public out cry. James Caswell BLM Director was quoted saying in a Christian Science Monitor article:
"We heard the concerns expressed during the scoping period about waiting to consider new applications, and we are taking action. By continuing to accept and process new applications for solar energy projects, we will aggressively help meet growing interest in renewable energy sources, while ensuring environmental protections" (2).
Personally, I'm grateful for all of the people who stood up and acted on this, like citizens of this great country it's because of moments like this that we prove that we still have a say in our government, and that we need to keep holding their feet to the "Solar fire".
The solar industry has had a long and arduous journey and it still needs help. It started in 1884 with the invention of the photovoltaic cell by inventor Charles Fritts. From there we can track solar energy development throughout time. From the use of solar cells as a back-up power source on the Vanguard I satellite in the 1960's to the failed attempts by the Carter administration to bolster the industry in the late 1970's and to political and social setbacks of the 1980's, Solar research and development has been waiting for its due, and I think its time may just have come, but the U.S. is definitely not the leader.
As of today, Germany is creating 4,150 Megawatts (MW) of electricity from photovoltaic resources mostly subsidized from government "Feed-in Electricity Tariffs". Spain comes in second at 640 MW. Japan is a distant third at 318 MW until a severe set back in 2005 when their government pulled the plug on subsidies for solar panels for homes and subsequently dropped production to a current 230 MW. But Japan is now getting back in the game with Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda announcing that Japan has a long-term goal to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 60-80 percent by 2050 as well as positioning itself to provide subsidies and tax breaks for solar panel makers starting in 2009. Where is the United States in comparison? Well in 2007, The United States' domestic solar photovoltaic market grew to a whopping 220 Megawatts. A far cry to Germany's 4,150 MW (just for reference, Germany is roughly the size of the State of Montana), and still behind Japan's 230 MW.
As of right now, home and business owners in the U.S. can get up to a 30% tax credit for installing and using Solar technology for energy production, The Tax Relief and Health Care Act of 2006 made this possible, but that all ends on December 31st 2008. The Senate is currently discussing extending the crucial tax incentives tagged onto the "Securing America's Energy Independence Act of 2007". This bill is currently being reviewed by the Senate Finance Committee. If passed it will extend the solar energy investment tax credits for homeowners and businesses here in the United States for eight more years. A much needed boost for the solar industry, especially in these economic times.
Rhone Resch, The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) President was quoted as saying "This bill emphasizes the importance for Congress to enact long-term, comprehensive clean energy legislation. We look forward to working with the Congress, to craft a comprehensive and effective policy blueprint for a self-sustaining clean energy infrastructure in the United States."

Is the ash acidic or alkaline and why it matters.
People who sit down to a daily breakfast of eggs, not only pollute their blood with over 58,000 biological transformations or bacteria per egg, which also activates an immediate immune response, but will have an increased risk of developing the acidic condition of diabetes.
In a long-term study of 57,000 U.S. adults, researchers found that those who ate a filthy dirty acidic egg a day were 58 percent to 77 percent more likely than non-egg-eaters to develop type 2 diabetes.
The findings, published in the journal Diabetes Care, do not necessarily mean that eggs themselves put people on a path to diabetes, according to the researchers. But they do suggest it is wise to limit your egg intake.
"Based on the current data, our recommendations would be to consume eggs in moderation and not to exceed six eggs per week," lead researcher Dr. Luc Djousse, of Harvard Medical School in Boston, told Reuters Health.
According to Dr. Robert O. Young, Director of Research at the pH Miracle Living Center in San Diego, California, "eggs are not for eating. Eggs are for the reproduction of the species. When you eat an egg you seriously pollute the blood with thousands of biological transformations, medical Science calls bacteria and yeast. Eggs are on my top ten list of acidic foods never to eat. The others include animal protein such as chicken, turkey, duck, pork, beef, and then all forms of dairy, vinegar, fermented soy such as soy sauce or miso, corn and all related corn products, such as corn syrup, peanuts or peanut oil, mushrooms of all kinds, alcohol, coffee and tea, and finally all forms of sugar."
The study does not explain exactly why eggs are linked to diabetes, but cholesterol may play a role. The study participants' daily cholesterol intake was also related to diabetes risk, and when the researchers factored this in, the relationship between egg intake and diabetes weakened.
"Cholesterol is not the problem with eggs or the cholesterol made by the body. Cholesterol helps to bind up acids and protects the alkaline design of the body. The problem with eggs are that they are highly acidic and full of biological transformations (bacteria and yeast) that pollute the fluids of the body. This activates the white blood cells to clean up the bloody (pun intended) mess. Bottom line eggs are a filthy, dirty thing to eat and were NEVER meant for human consumption," states Dr. Young.
In animal studies, high saturated and/or trans fat diets have been shown to raise levels of blood Sugar and the sugar-regulating hormone insulin -- suggesting a way that an acidic diet might promote diabetes.
"The acid from eggs breaks down body cells, including the red blood cells and thus increases blood sugar. Sugar is a breakdown product or acid from the degeneration of any body cell. This is why blood sugars go up. The body is breaking down just like when a banana ripens. It gets sweeter as it spoils or degenerates. Once we get it into our heads that Sugar is an acid from rotting matter, including body matter than maybe we will stop eating foods and drinking liquids that are acidic or full of sugar. This is the true cause of diabetes," states Dr. Young.
According to Djousse, it's important for people at risk of type 2 diabetes -- due to factors like family history and obesity -- to pay attention to their overall cholesterol intake, and not just cholesterol from eggs.
"In the prevention of diabetes or in its reversal you just have to stop making acidic lifestyle and dietary choices. It is acidic choice that causes diabetes and eating eggs is one of those acidic choices that leads to diabetes," states Dr. Young.
Even more important, he noted, is a focus on overall health -- maintaining a normal weight, exercising regularly and eating a well-balanced diet -- rather than any one food or nutrient.
"Preventing or reversing diabetes is as simple as making better choices and choices must be alkalizing."

(NaturalNews) How many times have you heard to eat fruits and vegetables? Well, there is a good reason to start as fruits and vegetables are at the top of
the healthy foods list. Mother Nature has packed them with hundreds of different nutrients designed to keep our bodies in top working order. Nearly all
fruits and vegetables help counteract excessive amounts of acid in the body which is another benefit.
Too much acid, or acidosis, is a condition marked by high levels of acid in the body. With symptoms ranging from fatigue, aches and pains, acidosis can be
very disruptive to daily life. In spite of that, however, (it is seldom diagnosed) or even mentioned in mainstream medicine.
The health issues of Acidosis are complicated and stem from the fact that the body`s pH (potential of hydrogen) is out of balance, and proper pH balance is
vital for good health. Ideally, the body`s pH should be 7.43. A lower pH is a sign of too much acid, or acidosis. A pH above 8.5 indicates excessive
alkalinity, or alkalosis.
Myriad health problems are linked to both acidosis and alkalosis. But acidosis is especially problematic because it interferes with healthy cell functions
throughout the body. One example is the production of white blood cells, essential for a strong immune system. Poor quality white blood cells are produced
in an acidic environment, making it easy for infections. Fortunately, restoring a proper pH balance boosts the immune system and benefits the entire body.
A diet high in acid-producing
causes acidosis. Not surprisingly, the Standard American Diet (SAD) is loaded with acidic foods, including meat, dairy products and grains and cereals -
anything containing sugar, eggs, legumes, coffee, tea, wine, fish and fowl. Their acidic content needs to be balanced with alkaline foods.
Sugary foods are a special concern. Soft drinks, for instance, which contain as much as 12 teaspoons of Sugar in the typical 16-ounce can, are highly
acidic. To neutralize all that
, the body takes alkaline substances, like the mineral calcium, and moves it from the bones into the bloodstream. Acidity is lowered, but the bones are
being deprived of the calcium they need to remain strong and healthy.
If you`re concerned about acidosis, it`s easy to determine your own pH levels. The simple test involves using litmus paper that tests the saliva and urine;
then check the second urine of the day.
If the test reveals 6.5 or less, then acidosis is a problem. The best way to change that is with dietary improvements designed to make the body more
alkaline. That translates into eating more vegetables. An acid-reducing diet should consist of 80 percent alkalizing foods and 20 percent acid-forming
foods.
Some fruits and almost all vegetables are alkalizing. So eat your vegetables or begin to take a multi
supplement that focuses on alkalinity. Tomatoes and citrus actually have an alkalinizing effect when consumed. So enjoy lemons, tomatoes and related foods
without worrying about contributing to acid levels.
After a week or so on the acid-reducing diet, retest your urine to see if the pH level is higher to your goal level of 7.43. Maintain your alkalinity
levels by eating properly and taking a multi green supplement.

Acidosis starts as the accumulation of acids in the lymph system.
..acid ash from burning the acid foods that we eat, and acid drinks

..acids from each and every cell in our body, just like your car has exhaust, so do your cells

Every cell in the body is surround by lymph fluid. There is an entire vascular system to pick up these fluids and move them out of the body. Too many acids, these fluids thicken, the vascular system expands (literally swells) and can clog up. This happens very easily in our sedentary world; the only thing that moves this lymph is muscle movement.
Let me give you a visual:
We're looking at a brick wall.
The bricks are your cells.
The mortor is lymph fluid.
Now...
Imagine instead of that mortor being "cement", look at it as fluid.

We all know that multiple trips to the acidic buffet for fatty acidic fried foods and sugary acidic deserts will pile on the pounds of protection. But no matter how carefully you watch your diet, stealth saboteurs may be making it difficult for you to shed extra pounds of acids. Several of the most common diet saboteurs you may not suspect -- and how to counteract them -- are:
1. Lack of Sleep. Recent research has shown that a
lack of sleep stresses your body physiologically and
causes the body to store the acids into fat more.
Counteract by getting eight hours of restful sleep
each night.
2. Stress. Stress throws the body into survival mode
where metabolism slows and the body stores fuel. In
addition, it dumps metabolic acids into your system,

4. Lack of Alkaline Hydration. The body needs water
and the right kind of water to flush acidic waste
products from diet and metabolism. If the body
is not receiving adequate alkaline hydration acids
cannot be eliminated and are therefore stored into
the fatty acids. The body will also retain fat from
the diet to store excess acids from lifestyle and
diet not being eliminated because of a lack of
Alkaline Water consumption. You may want to
consider increasing your Alkaline Water consumption
to 1 liter per 30 pounds of weight to begin
detoxing the body of excess acidity.
