Every single message posted on CureZone.com will be transformed into a web page, and will become available to anyone in the world!

All your messages will be indexed by search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo and once Google picks up a message, it can virtually take weeks or months before the first message could be replaced or updated with a new message.

DO NOT disclose any personally identifiable information inside your forum message, unless you are ready to face consequences of your actions!
Keep your name, your email address, your phone number, and any other personally identifiable information private!

DO NOT use the same username on more then one website!  Your curezone username should not be identical to a username you use on other websites!

You will have the privilege to edit your message until someone else posts a reply to it. Once someone replies to your message, edit function will be disabled.

A message can be removed from CureZone if nobody has replied to that message.  If a message has replies, we can only remove parts of messages containing personally identifiable information.

Removal of messages with replies would remove replies too.
A message with replies can be removed if all the people who posted replies agree to their messages being removed or rendered meaningless.

Use instead built-in possibility to have the same message appear inside up to 6 different forums!

Debates and Arguments

There is one main rule on support forums on CureZone:

Debates and Arguments are not allowed,
cause they tend to disrupt supportive atmosphere, and tend to destroy forum.

We have debates forums where civilized debaters are welcomed!

Do not argue with CureZone Moderators!

Do not argue with CureZone Rules!

ADVERTISEMENTS,
PROMOTIONS, SOLICITATIONS,
PROPOSITIONS

Don't Do it !!!

Go to CureZone Directory and promote your site/product there.
It is a free open directory!

Do not try to promote any web site or any product on CureZone forums, unless you are going to post your message into the Market Forum

It doesn't matter if you are affiliated or not with a site/product.
Posting a message that is a promotion of a commercial site or a commercial product is NOT ALLOWED on CureZone forums.

When are you allowed to mention a brand name/site name?

You are encouraged and you are allowed to talk about any commercial product on CureZone Forums if you are just a customer.

Avoid promoting any commercial product in every single message you post!  If you are in any way related to the business which is producing, marketing or selling the product, you should avoid mentioning the product in your messages!

If you are in any way related to the business which is producing, marketing or selling the product, you are not allowed to mention the product in your personal story!   Mentioning or promoting health products that you are profiting from poses a serious conflict-of-interest!

You are encouraged to post URL or to link to any web site. You are free to share and you are encouraged to share what worked for you, like the brand name of a product, URL or address where to get it. You are 100% free to link to any web shop that sells that product, ...BUT  ONLY if you are just a regular customer!!!  Even then, you should not repeat your story too many times, that will get you banned!  Posting your story once should be enough!?

What about mentioning and linking to non-commercial web sites?

You are allowed to mention and to link to any non-commercial web site, as long as you do it just occasionally.

If all of your messages sound as if your only purpose of coming to CureZone is to promote your site, then you should avoid posting, cause promotion is not the reason why CureZone forums exist.

Question moderators will ask is:

Is your message to be understood as a message posted with only purpose of promoting a web site, or does your message have content of value, content that can stand on it's own feet, even if you remove the URL?

If a message have content of value, content that can stand on it's own feet, even if you remove the URL, then the message should not be considered a promotion.

Another question that moderators must ask is:

Is this a single message, or was this person adding a same URL to all of his/her messages?

If a person is adding a same URL to all of his/her messages, then even if messages are able to stand on it's own feet, the messages may be considered a promotion, and moderators may decide to delete all messages and to block a person.

I have a homepage.  Can I add URL of my Homepage as a signature to all of my messages?

No, that is against our rules.
But, you can add
URL of your Homepage to your public profile, and that way you can promote your website.

Forums, Mailing Lists and Discussion Groups

Do not advertise Forums, Mailing Lists or Discussion Groups on CureZone forums!

Do not advertise CureZone Forums on other forums on the web!

It is considered unethical to promote other discussion forums on curezone forums, or to promote CureZone forums on other forums on the web, unless there is an official link exchange agreement between forums/websites.

Promotions and Infomercials

If a message is a promotion or advertisement, even masked advertisement, do not post it,  unless you are going to post inside
the Market Forum (forum specially designed for sale and promotion of health related business)

Do not post a message with the only purpose of promoting any commercial product.

Do not link to commercial web sites from your messages!

ESPECIALLY DON'T DO IT if you are directly profiting from products sold on that web site!

(Exception to this rule are links to books, cds, videos, charts and other media commonly used as tools in health education. Example: Links to Amazon.com and similar web sites.)

Do not post infomercials.

Do not promote commercial products based on studies,
but feel free to report your personal experience.

If you are not selling a product, you are free to report your personal  experience, or experience of your family members. In that case, you are also free to link to a page where the product can be purchased.

MLM?

Do not post a promotonal message about products sold through MLM networks/piramides!

That includes, but is not limiting to: Manatech, Tahitian Noni International, Herbalife, Mangosten, Coral Calcium, Kinotakara, Fit-Line, Natures Sunshine, Awareness, Body Wise, Nu Skin, Rexall, Quixtar, Amway, Avon, Tupperware, New Vision International, Melaleuca,  Mary Kay, NuSkin Enterprises, Shaklee, Longevity Network, Nikken, Cognigen Networks, Changes International, Dale Networks Pvt, Pre-Paid Legal, Primerica, IMX, ACN,  International, Maxxis, Wellness International Network, Freelife International, Market America, Noevir, Watkins, Body Wise International, USANA, Symmetry, Pampered Chef, Petra Fashions, Longaberger, Nutrition For Life, Health Thru Nutrition, BeautiControl, Creative Memories, Reliv International, World Financial Group, Golden Neo-Life Diamite, New Image International, Cell Tech, My Money Machine, Discovery Toys, Partylite Gifts, Southern Heritage, Miracle Associates, Conklin Company Inc, Envion, Array International ...

Breach of this rule may result in you being banned from CureZone!

Promoting health products that you are profiting from poses a serious
 conflict-of-interest
even if you are a qualified health care practitioner,
and even if products are worthwhile.

Before becoming involved in multilevel marketing, you should consider how much value you place upon your good name. A short-term financial gain may not be worth what it cost in long-term loss of social status.

Multilevel marketing (also called network marketing) is a form of direct sales in which independent distributors sell products, usually in their customers' home or by telephone. In theory, distributors can make money not only from their own sales but also from those of the people they recruit.

In case of MLM products, all customers are also salesmen.
That doesn't mean that products are wortheless,
it only means that there is a significant conflict of interest.

What is wrong with MLM?

Hundreds of thousands of people are selling health products as "independent distributors." Product lines typically include vitamin supplements, weight loss formulas, fiber-containing snack bars, and/or herbal remedies.

  • Products sold in this fashion must be overpriced to finance the greedy profits promised to distributors (person selling products, and all salesmen on the higher level of "piramid" or "network" are suppose to earn from each sale).
  • Selling health products one recommends poses a serious conflict-of-interest even when sellers are qualified and products worthwhile.
  • Salespeople are encouraged to make oral health claims while companies seek deniability for themselves via fine print disclaimers.

MLMs are driven largely by greed. The idea of working hard for a while, building up a substantial down-line sales system, and watching the money roll in, is appealing, but is "too good to be true." Literature of the NuSkin company claimed that distributors could make $5,000 to $10,000 per month, but 98% of all distributors earned an average of $38 a month. Even the well-established Amway company has not been able to deliver on the sweet dream for most of its people. The company has 14,000 employees, and over 3 million distributors internationally, and global sales of $7 billion, yet, the average monthly gross income of Amway representatives is less than $90.

Forum "Commando"

Do not behave like a forum "Commando"!

A Forum "Commando" is a person who trolls forums by deleting his own messages and leaving meaningless threads.

A Forum "Commando" is just like any other user. He/she participates in discussions, asks legitimate questions, posts legitimate answers.  You can not recognize a forum "Commando" by reading his/her messages.

It is what a forum "Commando" does later that makes him/her a problem.

A forum "Commando" returns to his old messages, and removes everything, not leaving even a message subject.

"Commando" jumps into a threaded forum, locates his/her own messages and then he/she  erases any trace and any sign of his presence, leaving forum threads deserted,  meaningless, skeletons that are of no value to future visitors.

What is left after a "Commando" visits a forum are threads with holes, so that replies that are still there are more or less meaningless.

A "Commando" abuses good forum visitors by asking questions, receiving meaningful replies from them,  but after removing his own messages and questions, ... those replies are not anymore meaningful ... and those people spending their time to discuss or answer questions have now been abused ... as their messages are more or less useless...

Examples of threads deserted by a forum "Commando"

We have The Privacy Manager    that can be used to remove a username from all message inside a single forum.
The Privacy Manager can also be used for hiding all messages from curezone search .. so that nobody can find your messages when searching CureZone.

Those options are enough to protect privacy .. and there is no reason for
"Commando" style termination of all messages inside a single forum.

Removing a username is usually enough to disassociate any message from your name.

Any violation of any of our policies may result in termination of your access to CureZone, deactivation or deletion of your account and all related information and files in your account, and preclusion of any further access to such files or CureZone, without prior notice.

All messages posted on CureZone.com are indexed by the major search engines like: Google, Yahoo, MSN, AltaVista, AskJeves, Aol, Netscape, Excite, Alexa, Northern Light ... and by hundreds of other search engines. Anyone with internet access, including people you know, your friends, neighbors, relatives and people you work with can easily find your message (in a fraction of a second) and read it!  If you wish to remain anonymous, please do not disclose any personal information (name, email, phone, address, city) inside your message!
When choosing your CureZone username,
do not use the same username/password that you are using for your email address.

Do not try to create FAKE discussions!

Some people try generating fake discussions, by posting questions and answers from 2 or 3 different usernames, or by simply using anonymous number #54565 when posting one message, and real username when posting another message.

Do not try to do that! You can not cheat curezone moderators with such cheap tricks.

People have been banned from CureZone for less!

Why do some posts get deleted?
If you post a message in breach of any one of the previously mentioned rules, your message will be removed!

We have different rules for different forums.  Rules that apply for support forums are far more strict then the rules that apply to debate forums.  You can easily troll a support forum because of our stricter guidelines, as we are focused on support-based posts only.  No debating.

Support Forums

  • If it is a troll, it gets deleted:

    • If it promotes the Quackwatch agenda (quackwatch troll), it gets deleted.  Dr. Barrett of Quackwatch criticize "quacks" for picking and choosing the research or publications they will use to support their claims. The exact same description of Quackwatch could be applied. Dr. Barrett has picked the information he will believe and slammed any he doesn't believe. This selectivity is not "scientific" at all.

    • If it is trying to spin conflicting information, if it is questioning in an insincere manner, if it is divisive and argumentative, flaming discussion, it gets deleted. Nobody likes people coming to the forums and wasting people's valuable time with insincere questions and need-to-be-right attitudes.

    • If it slanderously or libelously attacks unfounded ("Dr Schulze kills people!"), it gets deleted.

  • If it's a vicious personal attack ("You ignorant bottom dwelling pond scum"), it gets deleted.

  • If it's obvious marketing spam ("Go here! Best Ever!"), it gets deleted, unless it is posted in Market Forum.

  • If it's hidden marketing spam, like an incomplete message, asking you to email the person to get the rest of the info. Example:
"I cured my Acne 100%.  Email me for more info: john@acne100cure.com"

  • If it's a personals ad (like the guy looking for actresses for his next X-rated movie) it gets deleted.

  • If it is dangerously stupid that could cause a newbie to seriously be injured or killed, it's a damned good candidate for deletion. (These would include things like "brushing my teeth with Clorox really makes them white!")  In the meantime, we'd post a counter with medical reasons why it is not good IMMEDIATELY!

  • If it's an invitation to move to another forum somewhere on the web ("Go here! There is much better forum here with a lot of cool people!"), it gets deleted unless it is posted in Best Websites Forum

  • If it slanderously or libelously attacks CureZone ("CureZone is the worst web site ... the worst people I ever met") ... it gets deleted unless it is posted in our Guest Book

  • If it's a multiple post, the oldest or the unreplied gets deleted.

Debate Forums

  • If it's a vicious personal attack ("You ignorant bottom dwelling pond scum"), it gets deleted.

  • If you are contsntly spaming forums by posting 5 -10 new topics that only contain copy-paste texts taken from other sites, those messages may get deleted.

  • If it's obvious marketing spam ("Go here! Best Ever!"), it gets deleted, unless it is posted in Market Forum.

  • If it is hidden marketing spam, like an incomplete message, asking you to email the person to get the rest of the info. Example:
"I cured my Acne 100%.  Email me for more info: john@acne100cure.com"

  • If it's a personals ad (like the guy looking for actresses for his next X-rated movie) it gets deleted.

  • If it slanderously or libelously attacks CureZone ("CureZone is the worst web site ... the worst people I ever met") ... it gets deleted unless it is posted in our Guest Book

  • If it's a multiple post, the oldest or the unreplied gets deleted.

  • You are free to promote the  Quackwatch agenda on debate forums.

  • Is it allowed to mention brand names of products that I am using?

    • Yes, feel free to share what works for you.

  • Is it allowed to link to a commercial web sites?

    • Yes, if you are just a customer.  Share what works for you.

  • Report a violation of Posting Guidelines and Rules here.

Most CureZone forums are intended for support!

    Avoid sending unsupportive messages!

Why do some members get blocked?

By default, all curezone members have the equal posting privilege, but ...

    • If you are "trolling" or abusing support forums, you get blocked.

    • If you are abusing debate forums, you get blocked.

    • If you repeatedly ignore rules listed on this page, you get blocked.

    • If you are sending unsupportive messages to a support forum, you get blocked.

    • If you are inflaming discussion on a support forum, you get blocked.

What is an Internet Troll/ Forum Troll?

    • An "Internet troll" or "Forum Troll" is a person who posts outrageous message to bait people to answer. Forum Troll delights in sowing discord on the forums.  A troll is someone who inspires flaming rhetoric, someone who is purposely provoking and pulling people into flaming discussion.  Flaming discussions usually end with name calling and a flame war.

A classic CureZone troll is trying to make us believe that he is a genuine skeptic with no hidden agenda.  He is divisive and argumentative with need-to-be-right attitude, "searching for the truth",  flaming discussion, and sometimes insulting people or provoking people to insult him.  Troll is usually an expert in reusing the same words of its opponents and in turning it against them.

While sometimes, he may sound like a stupid, uninformed, ignorant poster, do not be deceived!  Most trolls are highly intelligent people trying to hide behind a mask of stupidity and/or  ignorance!  They usually have an agenda. Very few trolls come to CureZone out of pure skepticism.

A CureZone Troll is generally a person who is extremely skeptical of the main forum subject.
He is generally interested to make other forum members look stupid. A troll will sometimes use insults to provoke other people to insult him. Then, he will complain to moderators of being insulted and will request that his opponents get banned from further discussion.

It is generally very easy to troll any one of several hundreds of support forums on CureZone. As the majority of support forums on CureZone are about alternatives to commercialized medicine, all you have to do to start a flaming thread questioning the main subject of discussion and to provoke insults from hard core proponents.  It has been done every few weeks.  It is strictly against our rules!

Initiating debates on CureZone support forums is strictly against the rules.

CureZone has plenty of debate forums where those interested in questioning can have free rain.

Even debate forums on CureZone can be trolled by name calling and by provoking name calling. Those trolls are quickly banned from CureZone.

Sometimes, he is skeptical, trying to scare people, trying to plant fear in their hearts. Many curezone trolls are people trying to promote Quackwatch / ratbags agenda through fear mongering.

For many trolls, lack of hard evidence about any therapy equals "DANGER". He will try to scare people from even trying the therapy just because there is no hard evidence that therapy is more effective then placebo.

      More about Internet trolls here.

What to include in your posts?

    • your personal experience:

      • tips and success stories--what worked well for you that others might benefit from

      • tips and failure stories--what didn't work well for you that others might benefit from

      • suggestions based on your own experience or something you read in a good book or trusted/non-commercial/non-biased  web site.

      • Read:  What makes a great health educator?

    • news or information that you think will be useful to other CureZone visitors

    • questions or advice:

      • how to improve your health, recipes, herbal remedies

      • how to resolve acute health issues, how to prevent problems

    • you are encouraged to post URL or to link to any non-commercial or commercial   web site, except sites mentioned in the "what not to include" paragraph. You are free to share and you are encouraged to share what worked for you, like the brand name of the product, URL or address where to get it. You are 100% free to link to any web shop that sells that product, ...BUT  ONLY if you are just a regular customer!!!  Even if you are a regular customer, you should not repeat your story too many times, do not push too far in promoting any product!  Let every person decide what and who to believe!

    • Watch how you express your emotions and humor within your mail. Due to the lack of vocal and non-verbal clues, we often need something extra to read into a message what was intended - such as emoticons or descriptive words. Also, remember that we have members from all over the world, and that some may not have a firm grasp of the English language. Sometimes it helps to use an 'emoticon' to express what you *feel* beyond what the words *say*.
If something you post is supposed to be funny, you can end it with:
        :-)
       or with  *S*

    Rules of the Game

What not to include in your posts:
