"Barefoot's" Human Predator

I was looking in the school web site and noticed Elf ,at the very beginning had made a web page out of the info that was salvaged from the very first web site, when the name "Barefoot" Herbalist was coined for the very first time. I had not seen this for a few years and really haven't looked it over very well, I clicked the button to reactivate the page; it has a few early pictures of the kids, etc. and is kind of a historical look at the first web site.



Some may remember that the first web site was not ours and the creators talked us into sending products direct from our place to fill their orders and not realizing how web site store and credit cards worked, the owners stalled paying for the first 4-5 months and my wife was very gullible, wanting to believe anyone and when I realized they had not been paying her, I stopped all orders and discovered they had not paid for about $24,000.00 worth of products and shipping.



Naturaly they said it was a bank error and our money was paid to another source and we would get our money when their bank corrected their mistake. After a year my wife finally figured she had been conned and supposedly the con-man had died and the web site creator moved further away, etc., etc. That was our first experience with a web site. Dr. Mom of The School of Natural Healing was scammed at the very same time we were, only she had invested her house and lost it all and this is why we don't see Dr. Mom Books and educational videos anymore She pretty well fell apart and has moved several times like a rolling stone. Her husband retired and both, having so many kids and so much debt, I don't think she ever recovered from it.



We simply got a bank loan on our property and kept moving forward. Eventualy the web site creator resettled and does send Brenda check every once in awhile, it has been and will be many years before he pays back what they stole, if he ever does pay it all back. We feel pretty lucky that he paid anything back. They had originally set it up that we would make/package/send all the products and they would keep 10% off the top. They had no intentions of paying anything back and tried their best to keep the con going. After the head man died, seems the original guy felt he sould pay a little towards what they did.



Today all we have it the remains of their web site and I will let it stay on the school website for a period of historical memories!



We soon discovered the internet is a play ground for predators.
