Fruits and vegetables contain essential vitamins, alkaline minerals, fiber that are key to good health. Now, a newly released study by Agricultural Research Service (ARS)-funded scientists suggests alkaline plant foods also may help preserve muscle mass and bone density in older men and women.
The study was led by physician and nutrition specialist Bess Dawson-Hughes at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University in Boston, Mass.
The typical American diet is rich highly acidic in protein, cereal grains and other acid-producing foods. In general, such acidic diets generate dietary amounts of acid each day. With aging, a mild but slowly increasing metabolic "acidosis" develops, according to the researchers.
Acidosis appears to trigger a muscle-wasting response. So the researchers looked at links between measures of lean body mass and diets relatively high in alkaline potassium-rich, alkaline-residue producing fruits and vegetables. Such diets could help neutralize acidosis. Foods can be considered alkaline or acidic based on the residues they produce in the body, rather than whether they are alkaline or acidic themselves. For example, acidic grapefruits, lemons and limes are metabolized to alkaline residues because of their high
alkaline potassium bicarbonate content.
The researchers conducted a cross-sectional analysis on a subset of nearly 400 male and female volunteers aged 65 or older who had completed a three-year osteoporosis intervention trial. The volunteers' physical activity, height and weight, and percentage of lean body mass were measured at the start of the study and at three years. Their urinary potassium was measured at the start of the study, and their dietary data was collected at 18 months.
Based on regression models, volunteers whose diets were rich in alkaline buffers such as potassium could expect to have 3.6 more pounds of lean tissue mass than volunteers with half the higher potassium intake. That almost offsets the 4.4 pounds of lean tissue that is typically lost in a decade in healthy men and women aged 65 and above, according to authors. The study was published in the March issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
Sarcopenia, or loss of muscle mass, can lead to falls due to weakened leg muscles. The authors encourage future studies that look into the effects of increasing overall intake of foods that metabolize to alkaline residues on muscle mass and functionality.
ARS is the U.S. Department of Agriculture's chief scientific research agency.

A rise in the alkalinity of the blood above pH 7.365 (alkaline phosphate)--any rise--is a result or a compensatory reaction due to over-acidity in body tissues (latent tissue acidosis) as the blood attempts to maintain the pH at 7.365.
There is no exception for the rule of alkalinity.
The body will ALWAYS overcompensate for the excess acidity in the tissues by over-alkalizing the blood to maintain homeostasis.
I call this the "teeter-totter" effect.
Along comes the traditional medical attendant and perceives that there is too much alkalinity, when really there is not.
This is an important concept to grasp, so let's oversimplify a bit. The tissues have become acidic. The blood "knows" that.
So, it pours out extra alkalinity or alkaline phosphate into the blood and the blood pH spikes up to a higher than normal pH.
It's like when we get the bejeebers scared out of us by something innocent, we over-react. When suddenly alarmed, a person might scream, holler, faint, get mad, strike out, drop the vase, kick the dog, or even have a heart attack. The blood does the same thing. A knee-jerk reaction...well, actually, a blood-jerk reaction.
Alternatively, how many times have you heard of a car going off the shoulder of the road and the driver over-reacts, jerks the wheel back, and flies into the other lane of oncoming traffic. It happens all the time. Incidentally, if that does happen to you, you're better off not to interfere. Stay on the shoulder. Let the wheel stay there for a moment. Slow the car down. But don't overreact.
Mainstream medicine, not understanding the cause of the excessive alkalinity pouring into the blood, may try and stop the rushing hyper-alkalization. But that's the wrong move. We're better off not to interfere.
Once more. When your little boy falls down, sees mama going out the door, or is scared of the boogey man, what happens? He not only cries, but how often do we see a child go into a big, fat over-reaction?
Sometimes, they really get worked up. It's a natural over-reaction to a typical situation.
Now it's Dad's turn to over-react. Along comes Dad and says to keep quiet, don't be such a little sissy, put a lid on it, grow up, stop that crying, OR ELSE...
Since I have digressed to make a point, I may as well digress all the way. Wrong move, Dad. If you do that often enough, the message you send to your child is don't have feelings, don't express your feelings, you are not acceptable, don't act like a child even though you are a child, and don't be who you are. So don't over-react Dad. Better to let the child get it out, stay in the room, validate their feelings, and use a little Active Listening (www.gordontraining.com).
Strong feelings can come and go...or come and stay. If you're really klutzy, you could be orchestrating chronic emotional issues for a lifetime.

Now, back to the blood.
Tissues are acidic. Here comes a flood of alkalinity--even so much that the pH rises and concerns the western medical establishment. But whatever it was that caused the pH to
over-react must be understood. Acidic tissues mean problems ahead, correct?
Not only do we need alkalinity but lots of it. The acidic tissues will soon even out the rise in blood pH, and we will need additional alkalinity to wipe out the acidic tissue problem.
Cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, etc. are not diseases of alkalinity but are diseases of acidity!
The body uses the calcium of the bones as well as other buffers (bicarbonate, hemoglobin, sodium, etc.) to chelate acidity! That is why there are always micro-calcifications in the liver, pancreas, breast, bowels, bladder, bones, prostate, muscles, joints, blood vessels and brain before the liver, pancreas, breast, bowels, bladder, bones, prostate, muscles, joints, blood vessels and brain cancer tumor shows up.
Why prior to the tumor?
Because the body will always try and protect and preserve itself by buffering acids with the alkalinity of calcium. The bones are always affected in any cancer, heart condition, stroke, diabetes, etc. because the bones are an excellent source of calcium for buffering dietary and metabolic acids.
So is Cancer, Heart Attack, Stroke or Diabetes the disease?
No!
Then is the loss of bone mass the disease or the calcium deposits in the liver, pancreas, breast, brain, etc. the disease?
NO! NO!
Is the increase in the alkaline phosphates the disease?
NO! NO! NO!
These are all symptoms, not disease!
Then the disease must be the over-acidity?
Well yes, and well no.
Then what is the disease?
The "yes" part I call acidosis or hyper-acidity. That is an acceptable term for the condition. But it is really much more.
The "no" part is that it's more than acidity. It's a psychological disorder. It's a sociological malaise. It's a cultural-anthropological phenomenon. And once people understand the truth and the scientific foundation of "New Biology"TM, and once people understand the Science of what I have been writing about for two, the better part of two decades, it may then become to be understood as a "moral disease" as well.
And why is that, you ask?
Is committing suicide a moral issue?
Well, yes.
Is drinking yourself to death a moral issue?
Well, yes.
Is allowing your children to become obese flying in the face of natural law?
Well, yes, assuming you are aware of what's happening and have other options.
If you say "yes" to these last few questions, then we are looking at a very, complex psychological, sociological, cultural, biological and moral phenomenon.
Once you know and believe that over-acidity causes every disease and all dis-ease, then to ignore that fact is a form of suicide!
Just like Samson who slayed a 1000 Philistines with the jawbone of an ass, every day people use same instrument with their daily lifestyle and dietary choices.
When you eat poorly, you pull the trigger every day of your life, and eventually, the gun fires. The bullet might hit you square in the head like a massive heart attack or stroke, or it may kill you more slowly like a cancer, or it may simply put you in a fog for the next 15 years like Alzheimer's or dementia.
This "disease-phenomenon" is an inverted way of living, eating and thinking!!!
Yes, this is the cause of ALL disease--ALL that disturbs the central balance of organized matter that leads to excess acidity in the blood and then tissues.
It is ALL that leads to increases in alkaline phosphates.
It is ALL micro-calcifications in the liver, pancreas, breast, brain, prostate, and so on, and so on.
ALL liver, pancreas, breast, bladder, bowel, prostate, brain, etc., tumors, ALL liver, pancreas, breast, bladder, bowel, prostate, brain, etc. cancer and ALL potential bone cancer!!!!
First, we must understand that ALL of the above sicknesses and diseases are NOT sicknesses or diseases but a symptom of acidosis and catarrh that has built up in the blood and tissues that has significantly effected the white blood cells' ability (the janitorial and garbage collectors for the blood and tissues) to remove metabolic, dietary acids and degenerative matter.
When we are dealing with any symptom or any effect, we need to look to the cause. To understand the cause is not difficult nor is the understanding of the treatment.
The "New Biology"TM explains the cause and effect of all sickness and disease in addition to explaining how to improve the quality and quantity of life.
For example, enervation (the deprivation of force or strength) and muscle weakness, per se, is not a disease.
Weakness, or lost power, is not a disease; but, by causing a flagging of the elimination of tissue-waste which is toxic, the blood becomes charged with acids.
I call this Acidosis--poison in the blood and then tissues. This is disease and when the acidic toxins accumulate beyond the toleration point, a crisis takes place. This means that the poison or acid (virus) is being eliminated--often through the skin, the third kidney.
We can call this disease, but it is not!
The only disease is systemic Acidosis which localizes in the weakest parts of our body.
And what we call disease, is symptoms produced by the forced vicarious elimination of acids through the mucous membrane.
When the elimination takes place through the mucous membrane of the nose, it is called a cold--catarrh of the nose. And where these crises are repeated for years, the mucous membrane thickens and ulcerates, and the bones enlarge, closing the passages.
At this stage, hay fever or asthma develops.
When the throat and tonsils, or any of the respiratory passages, become the seat of the crises of acidity, we have croup, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia, etc.
When the acids locate in the cranial cavity we have dementia, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, muddle thinking, forgetfulness, and even depression.
When the acids locate in the gastrointestinal tract we have IBS, gastrointestinal dysmotility, autonomic dysfunction, carotid stenosis and ischemic colitis.
When the acids are expressed through the skin we have psoriasis.
When the acids locate in the liver, pancreas, breast, bowels, bladder, prostate, uterus or brain tissue we have micro-calcifications of these acids that then leads to tumors and liver, pancreas, breast, bowels, bladder, prostate, uterus or brain cancer.
What is in the name?
All are symptoms of the expulsion of acids from the blood and then tissues at the different points named.
They are of the same character essentially and evolve from the one cause, namely, systemic Acidosis, as a crisis of toxemia.
The description can be extended to every organ of the body, including the largest organ, the skin, causing melanoma cancer.
For any organ that is enervated below the average standard from stress of habit, from work, or worry, from injury, or any other cause, that organ may become the location of the crises
of systemic Acidosis.
The symptoms presented differ with each organ affected. That fact gives color to the erroneous belief that every symptom-complex is a separate and distinct disease.
But, thanks to the new light and knowledge of Dr.Robert and Shelley Young, being shed by the "New Biology"TM upon nomenclature involved in the naming of a disease, every symptom-complex goes back to the one and only cause of all diseases, namely, systemic Acidosis.
To find the cause of all symptomologies including cancer, heart attack, stroke, diabetes, etc., start with colds and catarrh, and watch the pathology as it travels through "The Seven Stages of Acidity(TM), beginning with:
1) enervation,
2) sensitivity and irritation (IBS),
3) catarrh,
4) inflammation,
5) induration (lupus, lymes, fibromyalgia, hardening
of the arteries, plaque),
6) ulceration and then to
7) degeneration-- cancer, heart dis-ease,
stroke, AIDS, ALS, MS and diabetes.
How well could you try to find the cause of man by ignoring his conception, embryonic life, childhood, manhood, etc.
Nature's order is interfered with by enervation habits until acidosis is established.
Then a vaccination (seen in Gulf War Syndrome and Spanish Flu Epidemic) or an infection (really an outfection) from any source will act as a firebrand. Sooner or later cause the most vulnerable organ (the bowels) will undergo organic change. The organ, however, has nothing to do with cause, and directing treatment toward the organ compounds the problem and is nonsense!
Examples of this wrong thinking yield blood transfusions for pernicious anemia, gland treatment for gland impotency, the cutting out of stones, ulcers and tumors.
There is no question that one of the most pernicious practices in vogue today is treating so-called disease with disease and
immunizing with the products of disease.
Current medical Science calls this form of pathological thinking a "vaccination." This my friends is the real psuedo-science!
When the cause is not known, how is prevention or cure possible except by luck?
Producing a mild form of smallpox using vaccine is the same as introducing a poison into a healthy person.
It makes no sense!
Certainly only pathological thinking can arrive at such conclusions. Vaccine or autogenous remedies (metabolic acids) are made from the products of disease.
This also includes ALL Antibiotics which are products of disease!
The idea that disease can be made to cure itself is an end-product of pathological thinking!
If prevention and cure mean producing disease, surely prevention and cure are not desirable. If prevention can be accomplished, then cures will not be needed!
It is not disease, it is cause "in all its aspects" that we need to know before we can take steps to prevent or cure "disease."
Cause is constant, ever present, and always the same. Only effects, and the object on which a cause acts, change.
And the change is most inconstant.
To illustrate: a catarrh of the stomach presents first irritation, then inflammation, then ulceration, and finally induration
and cancer.
Not all cases run true to form. Only a small percentage evolve to ulcer and fewer reach the cancer stage. More acidic toxins
exit via acute food poisoning or acute indigestion then by chronic diseases.
Most Americans are challenged with the symptomology of indigestion, which can include acid reflux, diarrhea and/or
constipation.
The proper way to study disease is to study health and every influence favorable or not favorable to its continuance.
Our western system of medicine has been preoccupied with the study of disease, not health.
Dis-ease or disease is perverted health!
Any influence that lowers energy becomes disease producing. Disease cannot be its own cause, neither can it be its own cure and certainly not is own prevention!
My personal discovery of the truth of ALL sickness and disease--that Acidosis is the cause of all so-called diseases--came about slowly, step by step, line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little.
At first, I postulated that yeast and molds must be the general cause of disease. Then I decided that it was not yeast and molds but that the body becoming enervated. But wait a minute, enervation is not a disease; disease must be due to dietary and metabolic acids.
I reasoned that localized or systemic Acidosis is the true general cause of all disease and must be autogenerated. And if disease is due to autogenerated acids, what is the cause of that autogeneration?
The answer is found in understanding the nature of matter and how it organizes and disorganizes. I realized that there must be a physical or emotional disturbance to organized matter before it can begin its disorganization.
And when matter begins to disorganize, it gives rise to autogenerated acids. This is true for all matter!
To illustrate, take a physical injury to a joint which is often complicated with the prior symptom of rheumatism. The rheumatism previous to the injury was potentially in the blood and/or tissues. Just what change had taken place in the matter which, under stress of injury or shock of any kind, would cause a reaction with fever?
I could not understand until the "Acid Theory" suggested itself to my mind. After that, the cause of disease unfolded before me in an easy and natural manner.

In a few words, without acidosis, there can be no sickness or disease and there can be
NO CANCER! NO HEART ATTACK! NO STROKE!
NO DIABETES! NO DEMENTIA! NO AIDS, NO MS,
NO DIS-EASE!
It is also true that without acidosis there can be NO PAIN!
Therefore, pain equals acid and acid equals pain.
I knew that the waste products of cellular disorganization and metabolism were toxic and that the only reason why we were not poisoned by it was because it was removed from the organism as fast as it was produced.
Then I discovered that the acid was retained in the blood and then tissues when there was a checking of elimination.
Then, the cause of the checking had to be determined. In time, I thought out the cause of all sickness and disease. I knew
that when we had normal energy, organic functioning was normal.
Then came the discovery that enervation caused a checking of elimination.
Eureka!
The cause of ALL sickness and disease is NOW found!
Enervation checks elimination of the waste-products --ACIDS -- of cellular disorganization and metabolism.
Retention of metabolic and dietary ACIDS is the first and the only cause of ALL sickness and disease!
One of the first things to do to get rid of any so-called disease is to get rid of all the acid, for it is this state of the blood and then tissues that makes disease possible.
Infection, drugs and food poisoning may kill, but if they do not, they will be short-lived in a subject that is free from enervation and acid.
Conversely, the poisoning will linger in the system until the acid is overcome. Then and only then will elimination remove all traces of outfection - ACID.
Syphilitic outfection (herpes, warts, moles of any color) is pronouncedly an acidic subject thrown into great virulency by poor nutrition, lifestyle and conventional treatment.
The same is true with HIV/AIDS. The so-called infection which in reality is an outfection of acid, is the least offender of the trio. Add fear (false evidence appearing real) wrong eating, poor sanitation and wrong lifestyle choices and we have a
formidable symptom complex that serves to justify all that professional syphilomaniacs HIV/AIDSomaniacs say and write about these dis-eases.
Remove Acidosis, drugging, FEAR, poor sanitation, wrong lifestyle choices, and vile eating, and there is little left. What is
left can be easily thrown out of the body by Nature!
Scientific research is being carried on vigorously in an attempt to find the cause of disease. The conception of disease is
that the cause is individual. Here is where investigators meet their Waterloo. All of the so-called diseases are increasing symptom complexes due to repeated crises of Acidosis.
Diseases have no independent existence!
As soon as acidity is controlled, the symptoms disappear unless an organ has been forced by innumerable crises to degenerate.
Even organic change, when the organ is not destroyed, will come back by correcting the life and getting rid of the true cause--the crisis of acidosis!
All symptoms of all so-called diseases have one origin.
All diseases are ONE!
Unity in all things is Nature's plan.
Polytheism is gone, and everything pertaining to it and coming out of it must go.
So you NOW have the truth! No more LIES!
There is only one sickness, one disease, and NOW one treatment.
The one sickness and disease is the over-acidification of the blood and then tissues due to an inverted way of living, eating, and thinking.

Disease or should we say Dis-ease names like cancer, diabetes and osteoporosis are misleading and misinform patients about dis-ease prevention.
There is a curious tendency in conventional medicine to name a set of symptoms a disease. I was recently at a compounding pharmacy having my bone mineral density measured to update my health stats. I spotted a poster touting a new drug for osteoporosis. It was written by a drug company and it said exactly this: 'Osteoporosis is a disease that causes weak and fragile bones.' Then, the poster went on to say that you need a particular drug to counteract this 'disease.'
Yet the language is all backwards. Osteoporosis isn't a disease that causes weak bones, osteoporosis is the name given to a diagnosis of weak bones. In other words, the weak bones are the result of excess acidity, and then the diagnosis of osteoporosis followed.
The drug poster makes it sound like osteoporosis strikes first, and then you get weak bones. The cause and effect is all backwards. And that's how drug companies want people to think about diseases and symptoms: first you 'get' the dis-ease, and then you are 'diagnosed' just in time to take a new drug for the rest of your life.
But it's all an illuision. There is no such disease as osteoporosis. It's just a made-up name given to a pattern of symptoms that indicates you are over-acid which causes your bones to become fragile.
As another example, when a person follows an unhealthy lifestyle that results in a symptom such as high blood pressure, that symptom is actually being assumed to be a disease all by itself and it will be given a disease name. What disease? The dis-ease is, of course, 'hypertension' or 'high blood pressure.' Doctors throw this phrase around as if it were an actual dis-ease and not merely descriptive of patient physiology.
This may all seem silly, right? But there's actually a very important point to all this.
When we look at symptoms and give them disease names, we automatically distort the selection of available treatments for such a dis-ease. If the dis-ease is, by itself, hypercholesterolemia or high cholesterol, then the cure for the dis-ease must be nothing other than lowering the high cholesterol. And that's how we end up with all these pharmaceuticals treating high cholesterol in order to 'prevent' this dis-ease and lower the levels of LDL cholesterol in the human patient.
By lowering only the cholesterol, the doctor can rest assured that he is, in fact, treating this 'disease,' since the definition of this 'disease' is hypercholesterolemia or high cholesterol and
nothing else.
But there is a fatal flaw in this approach to disease treatment: the symptom is not the cause of the dis-ease. There is another cause, and this deeper cause is routinely ignored by conventional medicine, doctors, drug companies, and even patients.
Let's take a closer look at hypertension or high blood pressure. What actually causes high blood pressure? Many doctors would say high blood pressure is caused by a specific, measurable
interaction between circulating chemicals in the human body. Thus, the ill-behaved chemical compounds are the cause of the high blood pressure, and therefore the solution is to regulate these
chemicals. That's exactly what pharmaceuticals do -- they attempt to manipulate the chemicals in the body to adjust the symptoms of high blood pressure. Thus, they only treat the symptoms, not the root cause.
Or take a look at high cholesterol. The conventional medicine approach says that high cholesterol is caused by a chemical imbalance in the liver, which is the organ that produces cholesterol. Thus the treatment for high cholesterol is a prescription drug that inhibits the liver's production of cholesterol (statin drugs). Upon taking these drugs, the high cholesterol (the 'disease') is regulated, but what was causing the liver to overproduce cholesterol in the first place? That causative factor remains ignored.
The root cause of high cholesterol, as it turns out, is primarily an over acidic lifestyle and diet. A person lives an acidic life or who eats foods that are acidic will inevitably cause the body to go into preservation mode and produce more cholesterol to neutralize the excess acid thus showing the symptoms of this so-called dis-ease
of high cholesterol. Its simple cause and effect. Eat the wrong foods and don't exercise, and you'll produce too much acid which will cause the body to release cholesterol from the liver to bind up
that acid which can be detected and diagnosed by conventional medical procedures. You see it is not the cholesterol that is bad it is the acid producing food we eat and the lack of exercise that is bad. Reduce the acid producing foods like beef, chicken, pork, dairy, coffee, tea, soda pops, etc., and start exercising every day and you will reduce the protective cholesterol that is saving your life from acids that are not being elimnated from an acidic lifestyle and diet.
Yet the root cause of all this is actually poor lifestyle and food choice, not some bizarre behavior by the liver. If the disease were to be accurately named, then, it would be called Acidic Lifestyle and Food Choice Dis-Ease, or simply ALFCD.
ALFCD would be a far more accurate name that would make sense to people. If it's an acidic lifestyle and foods choice dis-ease, then it seems that the obvious solution to the dis-ease would be to choose a lifestyle and foods that aren't so acidic. Of course that may be a bit of simplification since you have to distinguish between healthy alkaline lifestyles and foods and unhealthy acidic lifestyle and foods. But at least the name ALFCD gives clients or patients a better idea of what's actually going on rather than naming the dis-ease after a symptom, such as high cholesterol. You see, the symptom is not the dis-ease, but conventional medicine insists on calling the symptom the dis-ease because that way it can treat the symptom and claim success without actually addressing the underlying cause, which remains a mystery to modern medicine.
But let's move on to some other dis-eases so you get a clearer picture of how this actually works. Another dis-ease that's caused by poor lifestyle and acidic food choice is diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is the natural physiological and metabolic result of a person consuming refined carbohydrates and added sugars in large quantities, undigested proteins from beef, chicken, and pork without engaging in regular physical exercise that would compensate for such dietary practices.
The name 'diabetes' is meaningless to the average person. The disease should be called Excessive Acid Dis-Ease, or EAD. If it were called Excessive Acid Dis-ease, the solution to it would be rather apparent; simply eat less sugar, eliminate all animal proteins, eggs, dairy, drink fewer soft drinks, exercise and so on. But of course that would be far too simple for the medical community, so the dis-ease must be given a complex name such as diabetes that puts its solution out of reach of the average patient.
Another dis-ease that is named after its symptom is cancer. In fact, to this day, most doctors and many patients still believe that cancer is a physical thing: a tumor. In reality, a tumor is the solution of cancer, not its cause. A tumor is simply a physical manifestation of bound up acidic cells so they do not spoil other healthy cells. The tumor is the solution to cells damaged by acids
not the problem. The truth is cancer is not a cell but an acidic liquid. When a person 'has cancer,' what they really have is cancerous tissues or latent tissue acidosis. They are absorbing their own acidic urine. It would be a far better named for the dis-ease: Cancerous Tisssue Dis-Ease(CTD) or Latent Tissue Acidosis or LTA.
If cancer were actually called Latent Tissue Acidosis, it would seem ridiculous to try to cure cancer by cutting out tumors through surgery and by destroying the immune system with chemotherapy. And yet these are precisely the most popular treatments for cancer offered by conventional medicine. These treatments do absolutely nothing to support the patient's immune system and prevent the build up of acids in the tissues. That's exactly why most people who undergo chemotherapy or the removal of tumors through surgical procedures end up with yet more cancer a few months or a few years later. It's also another reason why survival rates of cancer have barely budged over the last twenty years. (In other words, conventional medicine's treatments for cancer simply don't work.) The main reason is current medical Science wrongly
perceives cancer as a cell when in reality cancer is an acidic liquid, like lactic acid.
This whole situation stems from the fact that the dis-ease is misnamed. It isn't cancer, it isn't a tumor and it certainly isn't a dis-ease caused by having too strong of an immune system that needs
to be destroyed through chemotherapy. It is simply latent tissue acidosis. And if it were called latent tissue acidosis dis-ease or urine in the tissues dis-ease, the effective treatment for cancer would be apparent.
The kidneys are responsible for eliminating acids out of the blood and recycling alkalinity back into the blood. When we have an over-acidic lifestyle and diet this puts stress on the kidneys which
can cause them to breakdown. The result is kidney dis-ease caused by circulatory acids. If acids are not eliminated out of the blood they will then be thrown out into the tissues leading to latent tissue acidosis and eventual cancerous tissue. Medical Science uses dialysis to purify the blood from acidity and prevent latent tissue acidosis. If one will stop their acidic lifestyle and diet and begin to alkalize the blood and tissues this will support the kidneys and prevent kidney disease and the need for dialysis.
There are many other dis-eases that are given misleading names by western medicine. But if you look around the world and take a look at how dis-eases are named elsewhere, you will find many countries have dis-ease names that actually make sense.
For example, in Chinese medicine, Alzheimer's dis-ease is given a name that means, when translated, 'feeble mind disease.' In Chinese medicine, the name of the dis-ease more accurately describes the actual cause of the dis-ease which is caused by acids or urine on the brain, whereas in western medicine, the name of the dis-ease seems to be intended to obscure the root cause of the dis-ease, thereby making all dis-eases sound far more complex and mysterious than they really are.
This is one way in which doctors and practitioners of western medicine keep medical treatments out of the reach of the average citizen. Because, by God, they sure don't want people thinking for themselves about the causes of dis-ease!
By creating a whole new vocabulary for medical conditions, they can speak their own secret language and make sure that people who aren't schooled in medicine don't understand what they're saying. That's a shame, because the treatments and cures for virtually all chronic dis-eases are actually quite simple and can be described in plain language, such as making different alkaline food choices, getting more natural sunlight, drinking more alkaline water, engaging in regular physical exercise, avoiding specific acidic foods, supplementing our diet with green foods and green drinks and alkalizing nutritional supplements and so on.
See, western medicine prefers to describe dis-eases in terms of chemistry. When you're depressed, you aren't suffering from a lack of natural sunlight; you are suffering from a 'brain chemistry imbalance' that can only be regulated, they claim, by ingesting toxic chemicals to alter your brain chemistry. When your bones are brittle, it's not acidic brittle bones dis-ease; it's called osteoporosis, something that sounds very technical and complicated. And to treat it, western doctors and physicians will give you prescriptions for expensive drugs that somehow claim to make your bones less brittle. But in fact, the real treatment for this can be described in plain language once again: regular physical exercise, vitamin D supplementation, mineral supplements
that include calcium and strontium, natural sunlight, and avoidance of acidic foods such as soft drinks, white flour and added sugars.
In fact, virtually every dis-ease that's prominent in modern society -- diabetes, cancer, heart disease, osteoporosis, clinical depression, irritable bowel syndrome and so on -- can be easily described in plain language without using complex terms at all. These dis-eases are simply misnamed. And I believe that they are intentionally misnamed to put the jargon out of reach of everyday citizens. As a result, there's a great deal of arrogance in the language of western medicine, and this arrogance furthers the language of separation. Separation never results in healing. In order to effect healing, we must bring together the language of healers and patients using plain language that real people understand and that real people can act upon.
We need to start describing dis-eases in terms of their root causes, not in terms of their arcane, biochemical actions. When someone suffers from seasonal affective disorder or clinical depression, for example, let's call it what it is: Sunlight Deficiency Disorder. To treat it, the person simply needs to get more sunlight. This isn't rocket science, it's not complex, and it doesn't require a prescription.
If someone is suffering from osteoporosis, let's get realistic about the words we use to describe the condition: it's really Acidic Bones Dis-ease. And it should be treated with things that will
enhance bone density, such as nutrition, physical exercise and avoidance of acidic foods and drinks that strip away bone mass from the human body to neutralize the excess acids in the blood and tissues.
All of this information, of course, is rather shocking to old-school doctors and practitioners of western medicine, and the bigger their egos are, the more they hate the idea of naming dis-eases
in plain language that patients can actually comprehend. That's because if the simple truths about dis-eases and their causes were known, health would be more readily available to everyday
people, and that would lessen the importance of physicians and medical researchers.
There's a great deal of ego invested in the medical community, and they sure don't want to make sound health attainable to the average person without their expert advice. Many Doctors want to serve as the translators of 'truth' and will balk at any attempts to educate the public to either practice medicine on their own.
But in reality, health (and a connection with spirit) is attainable by every single person. Health is easy, it is straightforward, it is direct
and, for the most part, it is available free of charge. A personal connection with our Creator is the same if we ask humbly in prayer for a relationship with Him, and guidance.
Don't believe the names of dis-eases given to you by your doctor. Those names are designed to obscure, not to inform. They are designed to separate you from self-healing, not to put you in touch with your own inner healer. And thus, they are nothing more than bad medicine masquerading as modern medical practice.

Cellulite It’s the curse of many women, as well as an increasingly growing number of men. If fact, it’s become so commonplace, that many people now think cellulite is a natural consequence of aging.
But it’s not.
Yet, despite what so many believe, there is something you can do about it. And the answer is waiting for you, right in your kitchen!
What Is Cellulite?
Simply put, cellulite is a buildup of fat between muscle and connective tissue. This fat buildup is caused by proteins that clump together and accumulate between the cells of the body. As this process continues, the end result is loose, dimpled skin, primarily in the areas of the buttocks and thighs. (Cellulite can also occur on the arms, stomach, and knees, as well as other areas of the body.)
Since the bodies of women generally have a higher overall fat content than men, traditionally women have been more prone to developing cellulite than men have. In recent years, however, an increasing number of men are also developing cellulite, for the most part due to the increasingly sedentary nature of our modern lifestyle and the increasing amounts of fatty foods in today’s modern diet.
Another factor is the fact that an increasing number of both men and women around the world are overweight or obese. But excessive weight gain is by no means a primary cause of cellulite since many men and women who are not overweight also have it.
Forget About Cellulite Creams
Given how common cellulite is, many cosmetic companies sell creams that they claim help to diminish cellulite and firm up buttocks and thighs. Such creams sell well, despite their expensive costs. But there is only one problem with them. They don’t work!
This fact was proven by research conducted by an independent group of scientist at the prestigious John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. The researchers tested a variety of the most common creams and other so-called cellulite-reducing protects. Based on their evaluation, the researchers concluded that not a single product worked as advertised. In short, they were a complete waste of money. Despite their findings, millions of women in the U.S. continue to spend millions of dollars on these expensive products hope to get rid of unsightly cellulite.
So What’s A Poor Girl (and Guy) To Do?
To deal with cellulite effectively you need to address its underlying causes: an increased ratio of body fat to lean muscle mass, and congestion of the lymphatic system.
Reducing your body’s overall percentage of fat requires a dedicated program of exercise along with proper diet. The best type of exercise program is one that combines stretching, aerobics, and weight resistance training. All three types of exercises are important, especially weight resistance training, which can help you to quickly start to reduce the ratio of fat to lean muscle tissue in your body due to the increase in lean muscle mass and reduction of fatty tissue that weight training results in. In addition, research shows that regular weight training (2 or three times each week) also helps to boost metabolism, levels. This, in turn, makes it easier for your body to more easily and efficiently burn calories that would to otherwise get stored as fat.
Note: Before beginning any type of exercise program, always consult with your doctor.
A healthy Diet is one that includes plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, along with lean meat, poultry and wild caught fish, as well as a limited amount of complex carbohydrates, such as whole grains legumes. Fatty foods should make up no more than 20 percent of your daily food intake, and should only include healthy, unsaturated fats. (Saturated animal fats are also permissible to a lesser extent.) Avoid all processed and “junk” foods, and also avoid eating protein foods in the evening, as this can cause an increased buildup of fibroid proteins in the lymphatic system.
In addition, be sure to drink plenty of pure, unfiltered water throughout the day, as water is essential for flushing out toxins from your body, including your lymphatic system. Avoid unhealthy beverages, such as soft drinks, commercial fruit and vegetable juices (which are high in Sugar and/or sodium, as well as other additives), and alcohol.
By following these recommendations consistently, over time you will start to see improvements not only in the amount of cellulite you have on your body, but also in your overall health.
But what can you do to speed up the process of cellulite reduction?
Get Your Lymph Flowing
As mentioned above, cellulite is also due to congestion in the body’s lymphatic system. The main component of the lymphatic system is lymph. The lymphatic system is often overlooked when it comes to maintaining good health but it shouldn't be. That's because the lymphatic system acts as your body's filtration system. In this capacity, it targets toxins and invading germs, encapsulating them within the lymph so that they do not spread further into the body. As a result, your lymphatic system is closely related to your body's immune system.
A good example of the lymphatic system in action is the swollen glands along the neck that often occur when a person develops a sore throat or cold. This swelling is actually due to your body's lymphatic system targeting and encapsulating the germs that cause such illnesses before they can do further damage.
When the lymphatic system is operating efficiently, it filters out the encapsulated toxins and germs via the urine. But when the lymphatic system becomes congested, this process becomes impaired, making it increasingly difficult for your body to effectively deal with these harmful invaders, and placing an increasing strain on the immune system. In addition, congested lymph flow can lead to cellulite over time.
Fortunately, there are a number of easy steps you can take to help maintain healthy lymphatic function. In addition to drinking plenty of water each day to help to keep lymph flowing, one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to avoid and reverse lymph congestion is to spend ten or twenty minutes bouncing on a mini-trampoline, also known as a rebounder. Rebounding exercise has been proven to be one of the most effective ways of improving lymph function and can be a lot of fun compared to other types of exercise.
Another excellent way to keep lymph flowing – and therefore also reduce cellulite – is massage, something you can do on your own, or with the help of your spouse or partner. And that’s where your kitchen comes in!
Banish Cellulite With Vegetable Oil
Congested lymph flow is due in large part to impaired circulation in the body. Cellulite forms in the areas of the body is which circulation is most impaired. Research has for many years confirmed that one of the most effective ways to improve circulation is massage. Therefore, it makes sense that massaging areas of the body affected by cellulite should also be helpful for cellulite reduction, and that’s exactly what health and beauty experts are discovering. In fact, daily massaging areas of your body affected by cellulite may be best thing you can do to banish unsightly bumps and dimples!
While massage alone can be helpful, its benefits for reducing cellulite can be dramatically improved by the use of simple vegetable oil, which you most likely have in your kitchen pantry right now.
Here’s how you can make use of this easy yet powerful solution. Apply vegetable oil (any type will work – olive, safflower, sunflower, etc.) to your thighs and buttocks and then massage each area each night before you got to bed for at least ten minutes. Then do the same thing to your calves. When you are done, wash off the oil from your body, or take a soothing bath or relaxing shower.
That’s all there is to it. By using vegetable oil to daily massage the areas of your body affected by cellulite, you will quickly improve the circulation in those areas, and also enhance lymph flow. And before you know it, you will start noticing that those annoying cellulite bumps and dimples are being rubbed away, leaving you with smooth, healthier skin.

1) The Flu vaccine will protect you from the flu virus.
This is a falsehood. There is no such thing as a flu virus and therefore there is no need for a poisonous acidic flu vaccine made with chicken embryos, formaldehyde, mercury, detergent, and alcohol. The flu is the body in preservation mode increasing body temperature to activate the lymphatic system to remove excess dietary and/or metabolic acids in the tissues via respiration, perspiration, defecation and urination. The key to reversing the symptoms of the Flu is hydration with alkaline fluids and sweating with infrared sauna or exercise.

2) Taking Antibiotics will kill bacteria.
This is medical subgerfuge and distortion as even the medical community realizes that Antibiotics don't do what they are supposed to do. We say with alarm that disease is becoming resistant to Antibiotics . They are not "resistant" because they have never been operative or effective. Antibiotics are the acidic waste products of fermentation. To make an antibiotic, you need a yeast or mold and some Sugar for the yeast or mold to ferment. The bi-product of the yeast or mold fermenting the Sugar is the acidic antibiotic. The acids from antibiotics DO NOT KILL BACTERIA. They only force the bacteria to change. Into what does bacteria change? Into yeast and mold. That is why when you take antibiotics you end up with a yeast infection! That's the Antibiotic causing the bacteria to change from one form to another. I call this process of change "biological transformation" and the reason why you should NEVER take antibiotics. Try the COWS Plan. It is safer and more effe

3) The stomach should be acidic and contains hydrochloric acid or HCL to digest food.
This is one of the biggest scientific misconceptions ever. First, the stomach is NOT and organ of digestion. Most so-called digestion starts in the mouth. That's why your mom said to chew your food. The stomach is an organ that alkalizes the food and liquids that you eat. The stomach cells, called the cover cells, secrete sodium bicarbonate onto the ingested food and drink to alkalize the food, not to digest the food. For every molecule of sodium bicarbonate produced by the stomach for alkalizing, a molecule of hydrochloric acid is produced as a waste product. Hydrochloric acid or HCL never touches the food or drink but falls into the gastric pits of the stomach away from the food and drink as the sodium bicarbonate rises to the top to alkalize the food and/or liquids ingested. This is necessary in order to prepare the food in an alkaline state for the duodenum and the small intestine where the liquid food is then biologically transformed into stem cells. There is NO
part of the alimentary canal that does not secret sodium bicarbonate for alkalizing. In conclusion, the stomach is an organ of contribution and alkalizing, not a digestive organ as medical savants would have us believe. So now you know it is a whopper of a lie.
4) A cold is caused by a virus.
This is another whopper--a century long distortion. A cold is the body removing excess dietary and/or metabolic acids through the orifices of the body to maintain its delicate alkaline pH. Colds are NOT caused by viruses but are caused by eating too much acidic GARBAGE. I won't get YOUR cold if MY body is properly alkaline. Excess acids can also be caused by your thoughts or negative emotions which can also give rise to the elimination of these acids through various orifices, such as your eyes, ears, mouth or nose.
5) Pharmaceutical drugs may have side-effects.
What an intentional obfuscation this is! Pharmaceutical drugs do not have side-effects; they have EFFECTS! And lots of them! If you take the drugs, plan on them affecting your health in many negative and acidic ways.
6) The brain runs on sugar.
This is closer to gross ignorance than a lie. Sugar is a metabolic acid and has no value in the body. None. Zero. Zip. Nada. 7) Cancer is a disease of the tissues.
NO! Cancer is not a disease of the tissues but a disease of the fluids of the body. After a trillion dollars spent since President Nixon DE CLAREd war on cancer, we still pretend not to know what it is. But it has become a several hundred billion dollar industry.....larger than the automobile industry. Cancer is an acidic, environmental, dietary and/or metabolic liquid; it is NOT a cell and we ALL have some of it in our body to greater or lesser degree. The more acid we have in our body, the greater the risk for cancerous tissues. Cancer therefore is a four letter word: ACID! And cancer's fumbling, bumbling proponents have put forth another four letter word: MYTH.
8) HIV is a virus and causes AIDS.
This is an incredible whopper! And because the real and UNEXAMINED TRUTH has been explained by several scientists for many years, it is MORE than a whopper. It is now a fraud. There is NO HIV virus. You heard me right; there is NO HIV virus! There never has been. AIDS or immune deficiency is caused by an acidic way of living, eating and thinking. There is no need for drugs, but just the need to change to an alkaline lifestyle and diet and PRESTO.... NO MORE AIDS. It works 100 percent of the time if you get going before the drugs and wrong diet have taken you right up to death's door.
9) Taking digestive enzymes will help digestion.
This is a major fable and fabrication to which many holistic doctors prescribe. And it's a dangerous one....especially for people who take digestive enzymes all the time. Enzymes are acids from fermentation and are poisonous. Just like Draino, taking enzymes will eventually destroy your alkalizing alimentary canal. One will kill you fast and one will kill you slow! Digestive enzymes may break down meat, but nutritional Science clearly tells us that you shouldn't be eating meat. They will break you down too because guess what? Your alimentary canal is meat!!
10) Blood is made in the marrow of the bones.
This inaccuracy and Science fiction began with the distortions of four scientists in 1952 when they conducted starvation studies on rabbits and pigeons and decided after autopsy that blood was created in the bones. This is NOT correct. The primary site of blood production is in the crypts of the intestinal villi in the small intestine. When acids (antibiotics, acid food and drink, enzymes, probiotics) damage or destroy the intestinal villi, then the body makes blood out of various body cells such as the bones. The studies on blood in 1952 may likely have been the correct conclusion if the autopsies had been done on humans--assuming the bodies had starved to death like the rabbits and pigeons. Logically, autopsies are done on people who have been very sick and finally died. The body is so sick that blood has not been made in the the intestinal villi perhaps for some time. Now medical savants have amazingly discovered that blood can also be made in the liver. The truth
is that it can also be made from all the organs and all the cells once the body is sickly enough. Hopefully, we won't be doing autopsies on healthy bodies because they rarely die. But if we did, we'd find out where blood is really made in a healthy body....in the crypts of the intestinal villi in the twenty-seven feet of the small intestine.
11) Germs cause disease via an infection.
This is another invention based on faulty scientific premises. Germs are nothing more than the biological transformation of organized matter disorganizing. Germs therefore are the RESULT of fermenting matter and not the CAUSE of fermenting matter, just as the smoke of a fired gun is not the cause but the evidence that the gun has been fired. When you see bacteria, yeast or mold on food, this is a result of food deterioration, not a result of an infection. When I see bacteria or yeast in the blood, I know this is a result of blood or body cells biologically transforming and not a result of an infection. In other words, germs are born in us and from us. The infection can only contribute to a state of imbalance but CANNOT cause ANY specific disease. So stay away from all treatment plans, traditional or alternative that focuses on the killing germs. If the drug or supplement will kill germs it will also kill you.
12) High Cholesterol in the form of low density lipoproteins or LDL's can cause heart attacks and strokes.
Cholesterol does NOT cause heart attacks or stokes. Not a single one. This is a distortion and an inaccuracy based on faulty observation and inquiry. Environmental, dietary and metabolic acid cause heart attacks and strokes. The body releases cholesterol or LDL's to buffer or chelate the toxic lethal affects of acid to protect the body, not harm the body. It is your thoughts, your words and your deeds that create waste products or acids. If these acids are not eliminated through urination. perspiration, defection or respiration, the body will release cholesterol or LDL's to buffer these acids for protection and not for destruction. A recent landmark study showed that you are more likely to have a heart attack or stroke with normal or low cholesterol then a person with a total cholesterol over 300. Your risk for a heart attack or stroke increases significantly as your acid levels increase or if you lower your cholesterol with drugs without lowering your production of a
cid from the environment, lifestyle, diet and/or metabolism.
13) Eating protein builds muscles.
Wrong again. This is another fictitious distortion based on faulty observation based on a) preconceived notions about how the body works and b) the failure of Science to sufficiently isolate variables when making so-called scientific observations. Tell the strongest animals in the world--vegetarian animals--that eating protein builds muscle. Eating protein actually makes you weak and eventually sick and tired from the debilitating acids of sulphuric, nitric, phosphoric and uric acid. The body builds muscle from blood and not from plant or animal protein. At the Ranch we grow avocados. We give our avocados minerals, water and sunshine - no protein. Yet, our avocados are 80% healthy fat and 15% protein. If you want to build muscle you have to build blood. And to build blood you have to eat green foods and lots of them.

14) Obesity is a fat problem.
I would call this a big fat lie. A big Whopper with cheese and bacon. No, I'm sorry fat doctors, fat farms and fat clinics of the world. Obesity is an acid problem, not a fat problem. The body protects itself against acidic lifestyles and diets by making and using fat. Think of fat as your parking places for environmental, dietary, and metabolic acids that are not properly eliminated via urination, perspiration, defecation and/or respiration. The two people who are to lead the new White House Office of Health Reform - Tom Daschle and Jeanne Lambrew - co-authored a book earlier this year titled "Critical: What We Can Do About the Health Care Crises." As government officials, their expressions ought to be part of the public domain, and known to everyone. And so I share a few tastes of their thoughts on health care, since they will have much to do with its reform in the coming months and years:
1) "There are many factors driving up health care costs. One problem is that 'supply side' forces exist in our health-care system. Physicians both diagnose and treat illness - in economic terms, they create and satisfy demand. . . . Conditions such as 'restless leg syndrome' weren't conditions until drugs were developed to treat them."
There is a curious tendency in conventional medicine
to name a set of symptoms a disease. I was recently
at a compounding pharmacy having my bone mineral
density measured to update my health stats. I
spotted a poster touting a new drug for osteoporosis.
It was written by a drug company and it said
exactly this: 'Osteoporosis is a disease that causes
weak and fragile bones.' Then, the poster went on to
say that you need a particular drug to counteract this 'disease.'
Yet the language is all backwards. Osteoporosis isn't
a disease that causes weak bones, osteoporosis is
the name given to a diagnosis of weak bones. In other
words, the weak bones are the result of excess acidity,
and then the diagnosis of osteoporosis followed.
The drug poster makes it sound like osteoporosis
strikes first, and then you get weak bones. The
cause and effect is all backwards. And that's
how drug companies want people to think about
diseases and symptoms: first you 'get' the dis-ease,
and then you are 'diagnosed' just in time to take
a new drug for the rest of your life.
But it's all an illuision. There is no such
disease as osteoporosis. It's just a made-up name
given to a pattern of symptoms that indicates
you are over-acid which causes your bones to
become fragile.
As another example, when a person follows an
unhealthy lifestyle that results in a symptom
such as high blood pressure, that symptom is
actually being assumed to be a disease all by
itself and it will be given a disease name.
What disease? The dis-ease is, of course,
'hypertension' or 'high blood pressure.'
Doctors throw this phrase around as if it
were an actual dis-ease and not merely
descriptive of patient physiology.
This may all seem silly, right? But there's
actually a very important point to all this.
When we look at symptoms and give them disease
names, we automatically distort the selection
of available treatments for such a dis-ease.
If the dis-ease is, by itself, hypercholesterolemia
or high cholesterol, then the cure for the dis-ease
must be nothing other than lowering the high
cholesterol. And that's how we end up with all
these pharmaceuticals treating high cholesterol
in order to 'prevent' this dis-ease and lower
the levels of LDL cholesterol in the human patient.
By lowering only the cholesterol, the doctor can
rest assured that he is, in fact, treating this
'disease,' since the definition of this 'disease'
is hypercholesterolemia or high cholesterol and
nothing else.
But there is a fatal flaw in this approach to
disease treatment: the symptom is not the cause
of the dis-ease. There is another cause, and
this deeper cause is routinely ignored by
conventional medicine, doctors, drug companies,
and even patients. The cause of ALL dis-ease is
over-acidic lifestyle and dietary choices.
2) "We seem to assume that high-tech medicine can only be better than low-tech medicine, that more medical care is better, that newer is better, and that more aggressive is better. Yet sometimes it isn't so." [Quoting from Deyo & Patrick, Hope or Hype: The Obsession with Medical Advances and the High Cost of False Promises, New York AMACOM, 2005]
3) "[S]pecial interests are especially numerous and influential in the health-care system. Health care comprises one-sixth of our economy, and the savings we seek will come out of executive's salaries and companies' profits. In terms of political clout, the health-care industry is second to none."
4) "Between 1998 and 2006, pharmaceutical companies and other manufacturers of health-care products spent over a billion dollars on lobbying, more than anybody else and twice as much as the oil and gas industries. Insurance companies, including health insurers, ranked second."
5) "Since cutting costs is tantamount to cutting profits for many of these special interests, it is reasonable to expect them to engage in all-out war to defeat reform."
Strong words that suggest our "reformers of health care" understand just a few of the challenges. But do they have the vision to craft the best solution? Their book makes no real mention of natural holistic health care, or its important role in prevention and cure. LET'S HELP THEM CONNECT THE DOTS! Write them. Write your own letter and send it to:

Before I started with my new dietary lifestyle, for YEARS I had an ongoing case of acne. It went away COMPLETELY after I started eating 100% raw and doing periodic colon cleansing. We'll get back to my story about how I totally cleared up my Acne soon, but first I would like to discuss how all disease, conditions and other ailments come from the same exact roots.
People have been eating foods such as processed, gluten-containing starches and refined sugars for many decades now. These foods are known to be harmful to the body. Let's be clear: we are NOT DESIGNED to be eating these 'foods'. These foods create much obstruction (AKA 'disease') within the body.
Every single night, our bodies try to cleanse and detox as much of these toxic foods as possible from our systems. We wake up with obstruction and mucus in the morning, from all the cleansing that has occurred. If we consistently eat these processed foods on a daily basis, we are adding more obstruction to the body on a daily basis than is being eliminated.
This obstruction leads to disease. Our bodies can only handle so much of this obstruction before being forced to find ways to eliminate it, leading to sickness and other symptoms. Generally, obstruction tries to exit the body via the place of least resistance (weakest place) in your body. For example, if you have zits on your face, the obstruction is using this exit route through your face... or if you have a Psoriasis attack, the obstruction is exiting through your skin... or if you have a herpes breakout, it is simply this same amassed obstruction trying to exit through your genitals or lips. Another example might be if someone gets Bronchitis. If you experience Bronchitis, do you believe you have a virus of some sort and you need Antibiotics ? It seems BLATANTY obvious to me that your body has had enough and is simply seeking to eliminate all this obstructive (DISEASE) through your bronchial tubes!!!
NOTHING removes this bodily obstruction more effectively than cleansing your colon on a periodic basis!!! It is documented that about 60 years ago, before the Pharmaceutical companies came in with their drugs, every hospital room had either an enema or colonic machine. It was the first measure that any nurse would ever use to help heal someone from any ailment, due to how effective it is.
HOWEVER!!!, after the pharmaceutical companies came in, these colon cleansing machines were stripped out from the hospital rooms. What most people in our societies usually do NOW is take antiobitics, trying to surpress this MONSTER elimination process and then just CONTINUE to eat the foods that caused this obstruction in the first place! This only adds to the monster and this obstruction (DISEASE) builds up even more within the body, potentially coming back later in the form of a more serious degenerative disease! The KEY in these situations is to get the obstruction OUT!!!... and NOTHING does this better than cleansing the colon on a periodic basis. Let's get back to how I healed my Acne completely after I went on a 100% Raw Food Diet. In actuality, going on the 100% Raw Food Diet didn't do that much for my acne. The real improvement came after I started to cleanse my colon periodically, AFTER I went 100% Raw. Ironically, when I jumped into a 100% Raw Food Diet overnight, within a few days, I had even more zits all over my face than usual, an ongoing runny nose, and I was running back and forth to the bathroom all day long: the initial major detox was in process. When I did my first colonic after about 10 days being 100% Raw, it changed the situation COMPLETELY!!!
While I was on the table during this first colonic, the mucus in my nose INSTANTANEOUSLY disappeared! For what felt like the first time ever, I could breathe air straight into my lungs and even into my brain, it seemed, without any obstruction whatsoever. The next day my Acne disappeared and I slept in bliss throughout the night.
Ten days after that first colonic, my symptoms were back, from the detoxification that happens when you switch to a 100% Raw Food Diet. Zits were all over my face again, my runny nose was pouring and I was running back and forth to the bathroom all day long once again. Another colonic took care of the situation and I was back to that BLISS state again. When I first went 100% Raw, I did a colonic like this every 10 days for about six months and I haven't had a case of acne again ever since.
Many people have come to me asking for help with their acne situations and I advise them to either do a 100% Raw Food Diet or an Intermediate Whole Foods Diet (eliminating processed foods), while at the same time doing periodic colon cleansing, just like I did. Many people don't get results when they do this, because they don't stop eating the processed foods, such as refined Sugar or processed starches COMPLETELY. Although you can remove a lot of obstruction from the body by doing periodic colon cleansing, if you don't simultaneously eliminate processed foods completely, you are still consistently adding obstruction to your body at the same time and it will again throw this obstruction out of the place of least resistance. For a person who has had an ongoing case of acne, that place of least resistance will be their face/chest/back etc.
However, if someone is willing to go all the way and eliminate the processed foods that our bodies were not meant to eat, the results can be outstanding. For example, one person wrote:

When people start applying coconut oil to the skin to treat Acne they will experience one of two reactions. 1) The Acne will clear up nicely without problem. 2) You will experience an increase in outbreaks.
The reason for the increase in Acne in some people isn’t because the coconut oil isn’t working, it is. In fact, that is why there is an increase. Coconut oil has a powerful cleansing or detoxifying effect when applied on the skin. If the skin is full of toxins, as is the case for most people who have a problem with acne, the oil will draw the toxins to the surface. As they are purged from the skin, an increase in acne may result.
This increase in outbreaks will only last a couple of weeks or so. Once the skin has been cleansed, it will clear up and become acne free. So, stick to it. Keep using the oil until the acne clears up.
Diet has a pronounced affect on the health of your skin. Junk foods, bad oils, and such fill our bodies and our skin with toxins that promote acne. If your diet is poor, even if you use coconut oil topically you may experience a resurgence in acne.

There are many advantages of using coconut oil topically. After using it on the face for a few days, you will notice a distinct change in the texture of your skin. The oil softens the skin, sloughs off dead skin, and gives it a healthy, youthful shine. Because of the stability of the oil, it also protects the skin from the damaging effects UV radiation. (NaturalNews) Does it feel like nothing helps with your acne? You eat healthy, you live healthy and you've tried everything, but nothing helps. Your Acne just won't budge. You may suffer from gluten sensitivity and it may prevent you from curing acne.
Gluten sensitivity is one of those hidden and hard to detect causes behind many health problems. And something you might not think of in a million years. It also happens to be the reason many Acne victims struggle to get clear skin.
If you are badly sensitive to gluten, you could have a perfect diet and live the healthiest life but won't get clear because of regular exposure to gluten.
To make matters worse, gluten is everywhere. You can find gluten in nearly all processed foods. And even in items you wouldn't think of, such as lipsticks, shampoos and vitamins.
Gluten - Acne Connection
So how does gluten contribute to acne?
First let me say acne is a result of blood Sugar problems and chronic inflammation. These trigger hormonal reactions that lead to increased sebum production, blocked pores and overgrowth of acne-causing bacteria. For a more detailed explanation, please see: What Causes Adult Acne.
Gluten contributes to acne in two ways. First, it causes damage to the small intestine, which could lead to nutritional deficiencies and an increased toxic body load (through leaky gut syndrome).
The second link between gluten and acne is inflammation. People with gluten sensitivity cannot digest gluten effectively. As a result they absorb incompletely digested protein molecules. The immune system treats these as invaders. As it attacks these 'invaders' the white cells release histamine, which increases inflammation. Inflammation increases insulin resistance in the nearby cells.
Insulin resistance leads to blood Sugar problems, which is linked to acne.
As this happens once in a while, the body can deal with it. But most people are exposed to gluten 3 or more times a day. This, coupled with other inflammatory agents, spreads inflammation all over the body. Suddenly cells all over the body start becoming insulin resistant.
Hidden Connection
I call the gluten-acne connection hidden, for two obvious reasons.
First, most people are not aware of their gluten sensitivity. Even fewer are aware of its link to acne and other skin problems. Second, gluten lurks in many foods and it's very easy to get exposed to it -- even if you try to avoid it.
For many medical professionals, the dangers of gluten extend to celiac disease and not much further. Celiac disease is clear-cut allergic reaction and as such, is easy to diagnose.
Subclinical gluten sensitivity is entirely different. First, most people show no outward signs that could be linked to gluten. Second, the immune system doesn't produce standard antibodies after gluten exposure. So gluten doesn't show up in standard allergy tests. Doctors specializing in gluten sensitivities can detect it with special tests [1].
Gluten sensitivity could be the most common food allergy as it is estimated that around 40% of the population is sensitive to gluten.
Gluten Here, There and Everywhere
With most food allergies , it's reasonably easy to avoid exposure. Usually you just have to read the labels carefully.
Not so with gluten. Thanks to modern food processing you can find gluten in most processed foods.
Avoid the obvious, such as breads, pastas and pastries, and you've cut out the biggest sources. But did you know there can be gluten also in cheese, butter and teriyaki sauce? Many processed foods contain vegetable starches and other additives that may contain gluten.
So gluten could be lurking in close to 90% of the items in your local supermarket.
Outside of grains, most food products contain only small amounts of gluten, but for people with severe sensitivities even these can make it difficult to cure acne.
As a rule, don't assume anything. If the food is not raw and fresh fruit or vegetables or does not clearly state gluten-free (wheat-free is not enough), it may contain gluten.
And if that's not bad enough, it's not just the food items that contain gluten. Your toothpaste may contain gluten. Same with your shampoo. And what about that new lipstick you (or your girlfriend) have. That also may contain gluten. Finally even the capsules of your nutritional supplements may contain gluten.
Gluten is one more reason to avoid both processed foods and chemical-based personal care products.
I cannot list all the sources of gluten here, but I've listed a few good links with more information at the bottom of this article.
Coping with Gluten Sensitivity and Curing Acne
There are two parts to getting over gluten sensitivity and eventually curing acne. First is to avoid gluten. When you stay away from gluten you avoid triggering the immune system and inflammatory response.
Study the resources at the bottom of this page for sources of gluten and see how you can cut them out of your life.
Second is to bring your body back to a state where it's not so sensitive to gluten anymore. Gluten causes problems because of two reasons:
1) Undigested protein molecules leak from the digestive track into the bloodstream
2) The immune system is 'on the edge' because of chronic inflammation
As you heal the digestive tract and bring down the inflammation levels you become less sensitive to gluten. You may never fully get over the gluten sensitivity, but at least it doesn't trigger such a strong reaction anymore.
Let's look at the digestive tract first.
Research has shown two interesting facts. First, people with celiac disease have different bacterial gut microflora than healthy people. Second, supplementing with probiotic bacteria may reduce the damage gluten causes and accelerate healing.
Researchers at the Department of Science and Technology, University of Verona in Italy studied the differences in the composition of bowel microflora between celiacs and healthy people. The researchers concluded the following [2]:
"The diversity of the faecal microbiota was significantly higher in coeliac children than in healthy controls. The presence of the species Lactobacillus curvatus, Leuconostoc mesenteroides and Leuconostoc carnosum was characteristic of coeliac patients, while that of the Lactobacillus casei group was characteristic of healthy controls. The Bifidobacterium population showed a significantly higher species diversity in healthy children than in coeliacs. In healthy children, this population was characterized by the presence of Bifidobacterium adolescentis. Overall, the results highlighted the need for further characterization of the microbiota in coeliac patients, and suggested a potential role of probiotics and/or prebiotics in restoring their gut microbial balance."
The composition of the bowel microflora may hold the key to celiac disease and gluten sensitivities. Probiotic bacteria have been shown to digest gluten into peptides, and thus make it harmless.
Researchers in Finland studied the effect of probiotic bacteria on cultures of epithelial cells (cells that line the intestine) to find out their effect on gluten-induced cellular damage. The researchers found that probiotic bacteria called Bifidobacterium lactis countered the harmful effects of gluten, and that it may be a helpful addition to a gluten-free diet [3].
Despite supplementation, a healthy Diet and lifestyle are the most important factors controlling the health of your digestive tract. The type of bacteria you have in the gut depends on what you put in there. A healthy Diet with plenty of raw fruit and vegetable fiber cultivates healthy bacteria. A diet full of processed food, Sugar and animal products cultivates unhealthy bacteria. Drinking enough water throughout the day and engaging in regular exercise are also important.
Reducing inflammation is the second part in coping with gluten sensitivity and curing acne.
A healthy Diet and lifestyle are the only viable solutions. Antioxidant supplements may help, but they cannot overcome the harmful effects of an unhealthy diet and lifestyle.
You can find many articles on anti-inflammatory foods and supplements from Naturalnews, so I'm not going to cover them here. The same diet that cultivates healthy bacteria in the gut also helps to reduce inflammation.
Fighting inflammation is not just about diet. Proper sleep, maintaining a positive attitude (or at least avoiding stress) and steering clear of chemicals and pollutants are equally important. Regular exposure to sunlight also has an anti-inflammatory effect.
So if you've been struggling with persistent acne that, despite all your efforts to eat and live a healthy life, hasn't budged, gluten might be the missing piece.

The Hidden Connection Between Acne and Gluten
(NaturalNews) You finally meet someone that you can really see yourself being with. You are having visions of the future already. Yet on the day of your big date, you wake up to find a large red bump on your face with a massive white lump in the middle.

(NaturalNews) Acne is a skin problem that affects adults and teenagers. Teenagers are often plagued with persistent acne. Many adults, who may have thought skin problems were a thing of the past, are distressed to find themselves affected, sometimes even when middle-aged. The skin care industry caters to sufferers by constantly developing expensive creams, lotions, pills and treatments which promise to cure Acne forever. Essential oils can provide a soothing, natural remedy and are a far cheaper solution for Acne problems.
Choosing the Best Essential Oils for Acne
Individual skin types will react differently to essential oils. The process of combining and experimenting with the best essential oil blend may be a trial and error process. Generally, the skin responds well to aromatherapy oils because they heal and nourish the cells and reduce inflammation. Essential oils also have antibacterial and antiseptic properties.

Good carrier oils for the skin include sweet almond, apricot kernel, carrot oil and avocado, jojoba and hazelnut. To dilute, add ten drops of essential oil to 28 grams (1 ounce) of carrier oil.
Make sure the skin is thoroughly clean and dry before applying oils.
Consult a qualified homeopath if the skin is severely inflamed or not improving after using home remedies.
Additional Tips to Combat Acne
Cut out sugar, processed and refined foods from the diet. Sugar is not food and should not be eaten in its refined form. Eliminating Sugar is possibly the best thing an acne sufferer can do to cure his or her acne problem. Cravings should disappear after one week or so of eliminating Sugar from the diet.

Acne patients are under higher oxidative stress than people with healthy skin, and as a result their antioxidant levels are exhausted. Managing
inflammation and correcting antioxidant depletion often brings much needed relief for acne patients.
Research in recent years has started to point to the role of local and systemic stress in acne.
Scientists used to believe the Propionibacterium acnes bacteria trigger the acne formation process. But recent research has outdated this view. The
bacteria only enter acne formation process at a later point.
The stage for acne is set by oxidation of sebum (in medical terms this is known as sebum peroxidation). In a nutshell it goes like this. Free radicals
cause oxidative damage to sebum, and this lowers oxygen content in sebum.
P. Acnes is an anaerobic bacteria, and it thrives in low oxygen environments. Oxidation changes sebum in a way that it becomes a more suitable environment
for P. Acnes bacteria. The bacteria multiply in the pores and add their own inflammatory insult on the skin.
However the early oxidation of sebum is the key that triggers the acne formation process.
Research has shown that people with
have significantly lower levels of several antioxidant nutrients compared to people with healthy skin. Similarly studies show that people with acne have
higher levels of inflammatory chemicals in the blood.
These studies send a clear message. Acne patients are under significant systemic
and oxidative stress, and their antioxidant defense cannot cope with the load.
Researchers speculate that higher sebum production is one reason why acne patients are under such high systemic oxidative stress.
The
and sebum are constantly exposed to oxidative stress (UV rays from sunlight, ozone in smog, chemicals in personal care products) and thus needs antioxidant
protection. Acne patients usually have higher sebum output than people with healthy skin, and this can place extra demand for antioxidants.
Reducing both systemic and local oxidative stress on the skin is one of the keys to getting over acne.
In this vitamin E plays a key role. It`s among the most important antioxidants in the skin. Studies have shown that it can protect sebum from oxidative
damage.

Managing it means ongoing visits to your dermatologist, and continued profits for the medical and pharmaceutical industry.
The consequences of these guidelines are as expected—aggressive promotion of drugs, backed by increased corporate spending, biased federal regulations,
misguided medical practice, and continued public deception.
Topical treatments (lotions, creams, and gels)—often the first thing a physician will prescribe
Oral Antibiotics (tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline, and erythromycin)—usually prescribed for moderate to severe acne
Accutane (isotretinoin) and its generic equivalents—reserved for severe acne cases
Topical treatments are claimed to reduce oil production, increase skin cell turnover, and kill off bacteria, which in combination supposedly reduce
inflammation. Examples are tretinoin (Avita, Retin-A, Renova) and adapalene (Differin), which are all derived from vitamin A.
Accutane is a highly controversial drug yet incredibly remains the industry standard for severe acne. Swiss drugmaker Roche Holding AG, manufacturer of
Accutane, has spent most of this century in court defending itself against lawsuits from people whose health has been irreparably damaged by this
menacing drug.
Roche has lost six out of six lawsuits and was recently ordered to pay $25.16 million in damages

to an Accutane user who developed inflammatory bowel disease as a result of the drug. Due to generic competition and the exorbitant cost of defending
personal injury lawsuits, Roche stopped selling the drug in June 2009.
However, the generic form of Accutane (isotretinoin) is equally deadly and remains available in the marketplace under the names Claravis, Sotret, and
Amnesteem. More than two million people have taken Accutane,

despite the fact that it is known to cause depression, suicide , inflammatory bowel disease, and 100 percent guarantee of birth defects if taken by a pregnant woman.
In 2004, brain scans showed that people taking Accutane
suffer a 21 percent decrease in frontal brain activity, the part of the brain that plays a critical role in mood and social interaction. These brain
changes may explain the depression, suicidal and aggressive behavior, and psychotic reactions reported by some Accutane users.
Is reducing your acne worth that?
Even official regulation policy acknowledges the real danger of Accutane. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned physicians and
consumers about reports of "depression, psychosis, and rarely suicidal thoughts and actions" related to the use of Accutane. Patients using Accutane
reported to the FDA that these psychological symptoms improved after stopping Accutane therapy, but worsened with re-start of the drug.
In light of this evidence, the labeling of Accutane was changed to strengthen the warning about its risk for causing depression.Isotretinoin now has
the strongest warning available for any drug category—and given anFDA Pregnancy Category X
rating.
If you are taking
isotretinoin
and become pregnant, you are virtually guaranteed to be damaging your baby
. Accutane is extremely teratogenic (causing damage to a fetus).

Many dermatologists prescribe long-term Antibiotic treatments for acne. Even though oral antibiotics are widely promoted, I suggest you avoid these
medications, as they will inevitably cause more problems than they solve.
Every time you take an antibiotic, you kill your beneficial bacteria along with the problematic ones. This can set the stage for yeast infections, as well as resistant bacterial strains.
Antibiotic resistance
is a serious and growing problem today. This includes the antibiotics prescribed for acne, such as erythromycin, which is becoming increasingly
ineffective as more strains of bacteria have adapted to it. Increasing numbers of physicians are beginning to pull away from treating acne with
antibiotics, or at least limiting the duration of their use. Besides Antibiotic resistance, antibiotics are not without risks themselves.
For example:
Erythromycin can cause damage to your teeth or skeleton.
Doxycycline is associated with photosensitivity.
Minocycline is known to cause pigment deposition in your skin (most often in acne scars), mucous membranes, and teeth, and occasionally autoimmune
hepatitis (a lupus-like syndrome) and serum sickness-like reactions.
And ALL oral antibiotics are associated with vaginal candidiasis, as most women will attest. The problem with all of these drug treatments is they
don't correct the underlying reason you have acne—which is why relapse is so common. Acne occurs when your body falls out of balance, so the goal must
be to regain homeostasis. This can be achieved through simple lifestyle modifications.
Just like other chronic diseases running rampant in Western society (like diabetes, heart disease, and obesity), acne is primarily a disease of the
Western world.

More proof is continuing to emerge that the root cause of acne is not bacteria or genetics, but environmental factors—particularly your diet. Acne is
much less of a problem in non-Westernized societies, where refined carbohydrates and sugar are consumed in much lower amounts. Solid evidence
exists that diets high in Sugar and refined carbohydrates
are the primary CAUSE of acne.
We now know that alow-grain or no-grain diet will very likely
clear up your skin, permanently! Antibiotics are unnecessary because correcting your diet creates an internal environment that does not ALLOW bacterial
overgrowth to occur.
After diet, the other major factor is stress.
Part of a holistic plan for preventing acne flare-ups is managing your stress. We know that stress is a major factor in infectionsof any kind.
So why aren't physicians lining up to give you the good news? Well, they can't "sell" you a healthful diet. The only one who will reap the benefits
from that is you!
Not all carbohydrates are created equal. Carbohydrates can be categorized into the following types:
Simple carbohydrates
are sugars, such as those found in candy, soda, and baked goods. Your best bet is to strictly limit those in your diet—working toward eliminating
them completely. Be especially careful to avoid all high fructose corn syrup, which is a major component of sodas and processed foods.
Complex carbohydrates
are found in natural whole foods such as beans, nuts, whole grains, and vegetables. Although beans, nuts, and grains contain more nutritive value
than simple carbohydrates, you will need to limit them if acne is a problem for you.
Your body "prefers" the complex carbs found in vegetables to the complex carbs found in grains, because your body handles their digestion differently.
Vegetable-carbs are slow to break down into simple sugars, with minimal insulin impact, whereas digestion of grain-carbs raises your insulin and
insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1).
Higher IGF-1 levels can lead to increased male hormones, which cause your pores to secrete more sebum, a greasy substance that traps acne-promoting
bacteria. IGF-1 also causes skin cells (known as keratinocytes) to multiply, a process associated with acne.
This is why most grains should be avoided if you have acne issues.
The research holds this up.
In a 2007 study

published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, young men (ages 15 to 25) with acne problems were placed on low-glycemic diets for 12
weeks, showing significant improvements in acne and insulin sensitivity.
Similar findings were reported in a 2002 study on how bread might cause acne.
Simply eliminating grains, sugars (particularly fructose), cereals, potatoes, corn, rice, pasta, processed foods, etc., radically improves acne for
most people. Fruit contains a fair amount of fructose, so it should be consumed in very limited quantities if you are predisposed to acne. And fruit
juices should be strictly avoided since the Sugar is very concentrated in them. (Vegetable juices are great, though, especially green juices.)
So, how many carbs is too many? Nutritional Typing can give you your answer.
Knowing your Nutritional Type will help you determine the ideal amount of carbohydrates you should be eating with each meal. By learning to analyze
your reactions to the foods you eat, you can begin to finetune each meal to the ratios of proteins, fats, and carbs that are just right for you.
If you incorporate these dietary changes, not only will your acne subside, but also your complexion will become
more radiant and youthful.
Gluten in wheat
and other grains may be contributing to your acne symptoms if you have a gluten intolerance, which many people do. This is a separate issue from the
insulin effects already discussed. Gluten is a prime suspect if you have
rosacea
, a growing problem, especially for Baby Boomers.
According to The Gluten Free Diet:

"A person who is gluten intolerant cannot digest gluten, so the body will not recognize it when it is eaten and therefore treats it as a
foreign body when trying to digest it.
Because the body of a gluten intolerant person cannot process gluten properly, the small intestines become damaged slowly over time causing
digestive issues. The gluten intolerance can produce other symptoms and push the toxins through the skin such as acne."
Since gluten sensitivity is so pervasive anyway, it would make loads of sense to try a gluten-free diet for one month and see if your acne or any other
health symptoms improve. This shouldn't be too difficult if you are already implementing a low-grain or no-grain diet, which minimizes sources of
gluten.
You may already know that I am an advocate of raw milk for its
vast nutritional benefits in general. However, there is a cautionary statement for you, IF you are an acne sufferer. Milk generally contains a
fair amount of iodine, although there is less in raw milk than pasteurized milk. Iodine is known to aggravate acne.

Several studies document this relationship as farmers often feed their cows iodine-fortified feed to prevent infection.
Therefore, if you drink milk, you should seek to choose raw over pasteurized—this is true, regardless of whether or not you have issues with your skin.
Since raw milk naturally contains Iodine at healthier levels, it is less likely to aggravate your acne than pasteurized milk—but the potential still
exists for even raw milk to trigger flare-ups. In the interest of eradicating your acne once and for all, then, it seems wise to eliminate milk and
other dairy products from your diet altogether.
There are no studies of which I am aware investigating the relationship between raw milk and acne. If you want to test it out for yourself, you can try
consuming raw, organic, grass-fed milk, and if it seems to be making your acne worse, then eliminate it from your diet.
What you put on your skin is as important as what you eat. In fact, what you apply topically is readily absorbed through your skin, which is really a
semi-permeable membrane through which substances pass directly into your body.
Many of today's skin care products and cosmetics are
nothing more than a toxic mélange of harsh chemicals, which cause more skin problems than they solve. And when it comes to acne, these chemicals can
seriously inflame an outbreak, or prevent one from healing.
Why do so many cleansers, lotions, and potions contain these potentially hazardous ingredients?
Because they're cheap, readily available, and easy to dilute.
When it comes to the skin care industry, anything goes. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) estimates 99 percent of personal care products contain
more than one ingredient that has never been evaluated for safety. It's a self-regulated industry—an industry that operates on "the honor system" but
has a multitude of dishonorable players.
So you have to be a meticulous, well-educated label reader to know what you're getting.
You should spend five minutes every day cleansing your face, which removes the impurities that collect on your skin during a typical day and clog up
your pores. And ladies, please never sleep in your makeup. It's also advisable to exfoliate your skin once or twice per week. But do so gently,
especially if you are experiencing an outbreak, and never pull or rub your skin aggressively.
You should use pure, safe, natural skin care products—preferably organic ones. Apply your skin care
products to warm skin, which maximizes absorption.
And once you've cleansed, exfoliated and moisturized, take a deep breath and… rela-a-a-a-x.
Stress can potentially worsen just about every condition, including acne. It's important to learn how to manage your stress, BEFORE it becomes
overwhelming. It is even more important to teach your children how to do this when they're young, before stress accumulates unabated and begins to take
a toll on their health.
Recent studies substantiate the hypothesis that stress can aggravate acne.
One study involving college students

found a connection between acne flare-ups and stress from final exams. Researchers found that subjects who had the most stress during examination
periods also had the worst acne outbreaks, suggesting emotional stress from external sources is a significant factor.
While it has been argued that the stress associated with acne is an effect of acne rather than a cause, the above researchers believe this new evidence
proves otherwise—that it's the stress that is exacerbating the acne, not vice versa.
Additionally, stress and fatigue can lead to
adrenal burnout
, where your adrenal glands become depleted. This can worsen your acne as well and perpetuate higher stress levels.
So how do you deal with the ever-present stress in today's demanding world?
My favorite tool is the Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT. EFT involves tapping your body's energy meridians
with the tips of your fingers to clear emotional blocks, thus restoring balance to your mind and body. EFT is a powerful de-stressing technique that is
easy for adults and children to learn. It can even relieve physical complaints such as chronic pain, allergy symptoms, and more.
You could also add in other proven stress-busters, such as yoga and meditation.
Remember, your complexion is a reflection of your overall health. Don't forget to incorporate these essential factors into your acne-busting plan:
Sugars and Grains:
This is probably the single most important step you can take to improve your skin health. If you can eliminate all sugars and grains for a few
weeks, there is a major likelihood you will notice rapid improvement in your complexion.
Water
: Drink plenty of fresh, pure water every day. Hydrating your body facilitates cell growth and regeneration, elimination of wastes, and sloughing
away dead skin cells. Hydration will also improve your skin tone.
Every day, drink enough water so that your urine is a pale yellow color.
If your urine is bright yellow, you probably need to drink more water (unless you take B vitamins, which themselves turn urine bright yellow).
Exercise
:
Getting plenty of high-intensity exercise helps your body flush out toxins, including those in your skin's pores. Plus, exercise is vitally
important to all other aspects of your health. If you happen to have access to an infrared sauna, this can be helpful, because the more you sweat,
the more you flush unwanted debris and contaminants out of your pores.
Sleep
: Did you know that a good night's sleep can decrease your stress and lead to clearer skin? Your body's time for healing and rebuilding is at night
while you sleep, and this applies to your skin. Sleep is also required for good energy and mood.
Proper balance of bacteria
: This is especially important if you have been on antibiotics, because those drugs indiscriminately kill off the beneficial bacteria in your gut,
without which you cannot have a strong immune system. You can reestablish your bacterial balance by taking a high quality probiotic supplement, and
by incorporating naturally fermented/cultured foods into your diet.
Vitamin D
: This important nutrient is crucial for maintaining a healthy immune response, and most people are deficient in it. Without adequate vitamin D,
your body cannot control infection, in your skin or elsewhere. Exposing large areas of your skin to appropriate amounts of sunshine is the best way
to optimize your vitamin D levels, or use a safe tanning bed. You should expose your skin until you just barely begin turning pink, which indicates
you've generated the optimal amount of vitamin D for the day.
If you don't have access to regular UV exposure, the next best thing is an oral vitamin D supplement, accompanied by regular monitoring of your
vitamin D levels with a blood test.
If you change your diet and lifestyle in the ways I've recommended, you can expect significant improvement in the health and appearance of your skin.
Plus, those same strategies will lead to improvements in your overall health, as well as relieving your bank account of expensive acne drugs that don't
offer any real or lasting solution to your skin's woes.
Remember lifestyle changes are not a "quick fix," but over the long run, they reap endless rewards!
