I have had my mirena since Feb 2005. I have had a lot of the symptoms everyone else has/had. I don't so much have mood swings and I have had only 1 10 day bleeding episode the whole time. Since insertion I have had horrible abdominal pain that I have been to the ER for about 10 times. The strings on my mirena can be felt but they seem to get longer and shorter with each month. They do nothing but try to give me painkillers and send me home. I know something is wrong but no one will listen. I have been to my doctor 6 times to have it removed but like some of the others she refuses to take it out. They check the placement and say everything looks fine. I've had 3 children and their births weren't as horrible as the pain I feel daily. Isn't it my right to have it removed? I paid them to put it in as I will to take it out. Anything to be normal again.
