Just wanted to give my two cents on the Mirena IUD. I've had mine for a year now and I love it! I've had no side effects for the most part, a little breast tenderness the first couple of months, but it went away. I did have spotting the first couple of months in between my period, but after about three or four months, its stopped completely and I haven't had a period since, which I think is great. I was so greatful my doctor recommended this, because I'm in my forties and I was starting to have irregular periods, this really took care of it. My suggestion to anyone whose gotten it recently - hang in there, your side effects and bleeding will stop and it will be worth the wait!
