Re: Mirena IUD Side Effects

WOW! I can't believe it. I finally found something after searching for months about side effects of this thing. I had my first child in jan. 03 and bf her for 10 months I was on the low dose pill but got off after 2 months bc of low milk prod. Well, surprise after taking temps and doing natural family planning I became pg again in oct. 03. In may of 2004 my little boy was born. This time I didn't want another surprise for a looooong time! So we decided the mirena would be good for us having two little ones. My sister in law who's a nurse practitioner even suggested it-but of course she was not very familiar with it at the time. So in july 04 I had it put in. I was so excited. I had some cramping for a month or two and bt bleeding. Well, then we moved about 500 miles from my home town and I had to start working after always staying home. SO when I became very "moody" to put it lightly and would cry or scream for no reason we thought it was just ppd. WRONG!! (as i see now) a dr. even tried to put me on anti dep but i wouldn't. Well, also after my first child i lost the weight with a little effort so quickly even while bf (i had to stop when i got pg) and was down to 180 (weighed 236 when I gave birth). I have yo yoed (if that's a word!! LOL) since my 2nd was born and am staying around 200 no matter what I try (son is now twice the age his sis was when I was 20 lbs lighter on no bc) Well, my Depression got so bad we decided to move back home and I just knew I would be happier. We came here in july and then last month I began to have these sharp pains around my ovaries and f. tubes. We dont' have insurance yet but I called the health dept. Took a pg test too and it was neg. So this thursday I plan to have it taken out hopefully. But my husband is so scared. I told him it would make our marriage and lives so much happier and stronger. Any advice on this would be helpful.
