I have had my Mirena removed and am very happy about it.

My gyno was surprised as "all the research shows it as being very effective" and he decided I was just unlucky.

I bled for 5 months after having it inserted and was never sure when I'd bleed after that.

I had a blood test which showed I'm post menopausal so I told him to get it out!

That was only 5 days ago and I've been bleeding lightly ever since. I feel better, but I guess it's a bit early to tell anything definite.

I would never recommend Mirena to anybody.
