Re: Mirena IUD Side Effects

A few years ago I was getting a shot every three months and my doctor told me about this IUD that I wouldnt have to worry about for five years and I thought hey that sounds terrific. I got it put in and within a two or three days I started to having anxiety and panic attacks. At the time I didnt know that what I was experiencing were those things it wasnt until a few months later. I was told that it wasnt caused from the IUD and I said I didnt care I wanted it out. After I got it out the changes still hadnt disappeared. I went to a different doctor had tests run and everything came back in perfect health. I was put on medications and about two months into taking medications I decided this was not how I was going to live my life. I got myself of the med's and was still experiencing some anxiety and not to mention it was always on my mind. It had been six months since I had that Mir. IUD removed and knew I needed to be on some type of birth control so I went to my doctor and decided to get back on some type of B.C. I went with the patch and I swear by the third day ALL my anxiety and thoughts of it were completly gone. So I am telling you this because I believe my problems came from a hormonal imbalance. The IUD for some reason was not giving my body what it needed or was getting from my previous b.c. I have also heard that the patch is having alot of problems too. At this time I have chosed to be off of all b.c. If I had to chose between the risks of taking b.c. or having another baby I would take a baby all day long. It's so not worth it. I am 37, non-smoker, and in good shape. We use condoms for b.c. and in the last few years because of all of this and this website I have really educated myself with taking more natural approaches to things. I buy all organic and non haz. cleaning and household items. People really need to be careful of the drug prescription industry. I swear there is a pill for everything now.
