hello ladies-
i just came across this sight last night 2/10/06. i finally said to myself there has got to be somewhere online to learn about the side effects of mirena. after having another 'piercing' attack at work i said thats it. i've had mine for about 12 mos now and had nothing but problems. piercing pain (unlike pms cramps), gained 20lbs, irregular bleeding, swollen and alot of discomfort all the time,discharge w/a slight odor sometimes. i feel like i have to go to the bathroom when the discomfort is there thinking it will relieve the pressure. i went back to the dr after about 6wks after insertion and they checked to make sure in was placed right and everything. they said everything was fine just give it time....well its been enough time now. i am 39 yrs old and never experienced so much pain in my life even with child birth...i do not recommend this to anyone...i guess our bodies are rejecting this foreign object...it just feels like to needles poking on each side of me......calling the dr to have it removed on monday....thank god.....
