UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! I can't believe so many women have had this many problems. I've had the Mirena for approximatley 2 months, I hate it. I've had all of these side effects and then some. I had mine put in at my postpartum appointment after having my third child. I've never used anything but condoms and it worked fine, no mess ups. I know not everyone can use this method. My midwife suggested the mirena and gave me a pamphlet on it before I gave birth. She praised it and said it was the best. I trusted her and went for it. I kept thinking all of these problems would subside after 3 to 6 months (like it says in the pamphlet) yeah right!!!! I've never used BC pills or anything else, because of the weight gain and mood swings not to mention all the other side affects. I expressed this to my midwife, and she assured me that I would have no emotional side affects or gain weight. I am an avid exerciser and I always loose my baby weight. I've lost most of it and then I quite loosing and actually started gaining, even though I'm still being strict on my diet, not at all like me and no explanation for it until I went to this web site THANK YOU!!! I figured the other side affects were from the mirena cramping, constant bleeding, back pain, these I expected, because they were physical side affects. I am TICKED OFF, that none of the hormonal side affects are really mentioned, and that all of you poor women were thinking you were crazy. I know my body and I know none of these things are just me. I have absolutley no history of any medical problems, and I know when somethings not right. Last night I found my strings and just pulled slightly, I wasn't going to force it out, and it came right out no pain nothing. Fortunatley my midwife left the strigs long until my check up, and said she would cut them if they were bothersome. I feel better already. I'm still going in for my check up of course and bringing in the mirena. I'm glad it is out of my body!!!! We all need to do something about this. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
