Re: REMOVED AND MUCH BETTER

I had the Merina IUD inserted on 3/02/04. I came into the DR. S Office very happy. I just had a baby 8 weeks prior. I was told it had no side effects. That was a lie. I had a little discomfort after having it inserted. I felt a little sluggish after words. I was told to expect it and it will be better within hours. The following day I woke up with a headache. It escalated from there. I had attributed the headaches to going back to work. Then, my legs started to fall out from under me. I would come home and be very exhausted. I would go to sleep for an hour or so and I wouldn't be able to sleep at all after that. I would wake up drenched from my nap. Finally, the vertigo set in. I would be dizzy for hours at a time. I was taken to emergency room because it was so bad. I felt totally dysfunctional and talk about dysfunctional! I had no sex drive. I felt so bad for my husband. No matter what lubrication we used it would not help the discomfort. I would ask the Drs. periodically,could it be the Merina? Every time the answer was NO. Finally, I looked up the side effects of IUD on the Internet and I came across this site and I saw how many women were so unhappy and symptoms were similar. So I had it removed on 4/9/04. I feel much better already.
