Wow is right! I was going to go in to the gyno this week and get a Mirena, but I've changed my mind. I've tried a bunch of different pills (and ended up with either terrible Depression or no sex drive or both) and tried the copper IUD. The gyno said "there's no way the copper IUD has anything to do with your back pain. Have you lifted anything heavy lately?" He now says this Mirena thing is the answer for me. No side effects. No bleeding. After reading everyone's comments, I'm not buying. How can the doctors not know about this? I remember telling my doctor the first time about not having a sex drive from taking the pill -- his response was "hmmm, never heard that before."
There has got to be a better way! Any ideas, ladies?
