HI, I ma trying to figure out if nettle leaf or nettle root is a better supplement for dealing with PCOS. The information I have read online seems contradictory. I have an elevated level of estrogen and testosterone and I am trying to bring them down. I want to make sure that whichever I take will not increase either hormone. I have been drinking nettle leaf as an infusion for about 2 weeks but I am concerned again because of contradictory info I have read. I am also planning to start raspberry leaf as an infusion. Thanks to anyone who can help clarify!

  And the shame is that industry is substituting other equally dangerous bishpenols in order to deceptively proclaim products as "BPA free". A few months ago I researched and wrote a fairly extensive article about the dangers of plastics (bottom line: there are no safe plastics!). Here is the section about BPA substitutes:

  As awareness of bisphenol A's clearly demonstrated toxicity grows and it loses favor within the marketplace and regulators, manufacturers are increasingly substituting less well known bisphenols, especially bisphenol-S and bisphenol-F, into their products and disingenuously labeling them "BPA-free." As a result, consumers who purchase ostensibly “BPA-free” products are being mislead into thinking they are safer because they contain no bisphenol content.
  
  In many instances, manufacturers are simply substituting The products may be BPA-free but they are not Bisphenol-free and they are far from safe as we are belatedly finding as the lesser-known bisphenols come under increasing scrutiny..
  
  For example, an alarming study published in the journal Fertility and Sterility and titled, "A new chapter in the bisphenol A story: bisphenol S and bisphenol F are not safe alternatives to this compound" found that bisphenol S and F, as well as the original bisphenol-A, are several orders of magnitude more disruptive to the endocrine systems of the developing male human fetus than previous toxicological risk assessments were capable of determining.

I'm 35 have had 2 pregnancies and successful births. 2 years ago I got Mirena and it's been hell. Painful cramping and bleeding daily. Tons of other things but this week has been terrible. I've felt very ill and after a BM this afternoon I stood up and have since been having severe pain in my low abdomen. I can tell somehow that it's the mirena. It hurts most when I use the restroom, sit, stand, lay, and move so basically always. I gently felt around on my lower abdomen as they do during pelvic exam or pregnancy and it is too tender to touch. I can't feel the strings and my already out of control migraines have been unbareable. Do I wait until the weekend is over and I don't have to have an awkward pelvic exam in an ER or see someone ASAP?

        By all means please try a fast with distilled water. I have done a few fasts with distilled water, and didn't see a big difference, as well as found out that it was pH 5.0 water I was drinking I stopped using it. I used to get a local supermarket brand, it was a rip off. I too want to purchase a distiller with ozonating capabilty. Dr. Robert Rowen talks about ozonated water and its therapeutic value.
        
        If I find a good source of distilled water, I am going to give it a try for regular use.

        I shall endeavour to look in to those sources that you mention. I myself was not overly keen on the "Course in Miracles", but I am keen to take notes, crochet, and draw through all of them... they are very relaxing to me.
        
        Concepts of 'past life' sit awkwardly with me in terms of my personal religious beliefs - but certainly concepts of higher self are more suited to the line of reasoning that I can assimilate in my mind. I would be very taken aback and interested to listen to the manifestations of these ailments and other issues voicing themselves. I have seen some of this kind of thing give reasons and justification of their existence in a religious realm, but never more so in a physical/metaphysical realm - however I do feel instantly that they are all interwoven into a intriguing tapestry of life.
        
        I say my 'little ones' as I am their female role model. I am my little sister's guardian she barely a teen and relies on me, along with my daughter for all their needs. I try my best to be as attentive to their soul/spiritual and health needs as I can so it can be full on...
        
        Chiron... after discussion with my partner, we decided together this morning of day 10 of my Water Fast - sans supplements, (with 5 days pineapple into the lead up) that I should break it. I have travel commitments and meetings in a few days that will require me to be on deck.
        
        I think his recommendation was out of sheer love, concern, and wisdom. However I felt very reluctant to break it. I procrastinated and almost grieved over having to put things other than water into my body. However I was on an extreme up... like I could have fasted another 11 days.
        
        I had a diluted pineapple juice over 2 hours just sipping.
        It made me tired and feel unwell.
        I hade a food-processed (mushed) pineapple.
        I had to go to bed... my chest ached, my heart hurt, the base of my throat felt bruise and swallowing was difficult. My whole upper torso felt like it had experienced trauma.
        
        after my sleep, I had a glass of bicarb, to see if it was an acid/heartburn issue... no relief... after some time I had an avocado. still dreadful. I regret eating and I think I will fast tomorrow for some time as I just can't take this... I ate very slowly, spaced out my small portions over hours. but I'm just having a terrible reaction.
        
        Do you have any ideas why this would be or what I could do as I am in some considerable discomfort... I am currently sipping on clear warm broth to try to line and calm my inflammation...

  Please consider that the medical community really doesn't know much about PCOS. The name implies it is an issue with the ovaries but it is not. The disorder is caused by the entire endocrine system not being able to sychronize.
  
  It could very well be congenital adrenal hypoplasia. As the name indicates it is genetic.
  
  But, back to the subject of fasting. If you do the 30-40 day fast you will need to protect and supplement your adrenals. They will crash and be difficult to bring back if you just fast.
  
  I was very successful at my fast when I took adrenal complex with a desiccated adrenal. Lost 60 pounds....BUT, I felt so good I threw caution to the wind and went back to my normal habits. Needless to say I gained it all back. If I had kept the adrenal support up I would probably have not gained it back.
  
  Like you, I am not a big eater. Our Pancreas works hard to produce so much insulin that it prevents any sugars from being in the blood and sends it all to storage fat. Our systems are unable to use stored fat to even things out without adrenal support. The objective should be to short circuit the overactive Pancreas and actually use the energy instead of sending it to fat. This is not the same as insulin resistance or Type II diabetes.
  
  Your adrenals and all the glands of you endocrine should be properly using the fuel the body is given but it just doesn't respond correctly. The adrenal complex will also help with hunger
  
  The bigotry and hatred we endure is just not fair.
  We are subject to a myriad of diseases and disorders because of our condition. Including Lymphoma, heart disease, osteoporosis, Type II diabetes.
  
  From experience I will tell you there are things you should NEVER take. Selenium, iron, DHEA.
  You'll get a lot of argument about it but we ARE NOT the same as those with normal endocrine systems.
