Re: Fasting - No Supplements
My ketostrip showed I am in the highest possible level of ketosis that the strip measures. dark dark purple. it would be a shame to break that at this point. I can go more and I hate to waste all the effort to get to this stage.
I do have a very good plant based diet.
I emphasise vegetables and healthy fats. I live on coconut oil and love butter and ghee, avocado, I enjoy eggs and greens. I seldom eat meat. maybe once every 3-4 weeks. grains are a rarity.. if that. no stimulants, no processed sugars. - not toothpasts, not any chemicals. the naughtiest I get is essene bread which is mainly plant anyway, and its like a slice or two every month or two.
On the event I will be baking for my family. its a religious event and its our family tradition for me to bake organic treats for everyone to enjoy. We never ever eat these things. Our kids have never eaten processed foods in their whole lives - and my oldest step son is 18. We eat mainly plants, occasional fish and rarely other meat. hardly grains. we raise our own dairy but we don't eat much dairy at all. if that its mainly fermented, and its an every now and then thing. I personally don't do much dairy, some of the younger children like it.
So my whole (extended) family eats very well. on this one occasion a year I treat the kids to simple things like organic sourdough spelt croissants. and maybe other like things. they are small portions. it is high in organic butter, and obviously flour which we hardly eat.
It has been a tradition and its a celebration of a religious event so I feel too shy to tell my family that I won't bake goodies for them. of course I will!... its just one day, maybe the left overs the next day and then its over. I generally give it three days. The thing is if I don't eat it, my family are very very sensitive to me, they will see and they will not eat it either. and I don't want to ruin their day. even the younger family members of 5yrs are like that. Obviously our portions are very small and our meals are petite. we opt for 'french lady' portions.
we don't live to eat and stuff our faces. we are simple people and the simplicity of an organic croissant (a simple pleasure for one time a year) maybe a sweet thing with small amount of honey organic palm
Sugar is just a token to show our kids the significance of the event. we normally never eat those things. We also want to show our kids that there are healthy choices when it comes to treats. so when they are older they do not binge out and make very bad food choices. we show them the limits. we say this is our everyday food and our special occasion food is this... we never let them see that processed chemicals is even an option to put into their bodies.
Archus.... Why do you think your cysts keep coming back? I am baffled by this... I know that even if i did not have this event, if I went into refeeding in a plant based diet, they would still come back... why??
I am going nutso consulting with doctors, naturopaths, hybrids of both, specialist herbalist, and still they offer no answer.... disheartening to say the very least
