Well, I think that I own my own chair, since I have the ability to destroy it, as per your definition of ownership. The same applies to my computer (though I love my computer to much to take a sledgehammer to it right now. . .). Technically, you may also destroy land that you own, although you may run afoul of local laws and ordinances about maintaining similar housing styles and neighborhood views. In any case, I don't see how (for example) the state of California is really a communist regime in disguise. I'd say it would be far easier say that about some European governments, due to their greater involvement in their respective countries' economies. In fact, that's really part of the United States' problem: the lack of needed regulations in some industries.
