Perhaps you can answer this quesitonfor me.

I have a water pump in my aquaponic system. I get a small shock from it not much more than the static shock you get from your car.

I can test it with chemicals but when I use my TDS meter it always says error?

even if I let the water sit in a beaker for up to a month it still wont read it.

the TDS works on all other water sources I test. It will not work on the water that has an electric current in it.

Why is that? what is the electrical current doing to the water that will not allow it to be tested by electronic device like my hand held TDS meter?
