Crystal C. Energized Water machine
Today is January 27, 2009. I have owned a Living Water Machine LWM Electron 4 machine for about 3 months. I am now posting MY experience with the machine, John E., as well as Phil with the company Crystal C.. On January 1st, 2009 something in the electrical section of the device malfunctioned and burned, resulting in the power cord and strain-relief burning in flames, putting the device out of service. I have a 5-stage water filter inline before the LWM so the water going into the LWM is extremely clean, no sediment etc. I called John E. and told him what happened, the heating element section burning up, etc. He essentially blamed it on me, telling me that either a) I did not have the water level high enough or b) that I failed to clean the boiling chamber. He did not want to hear anything about warranty and that the machine water level was kept at the proper height and that the boiling chamber was NOT all caked up with sediment as John was asserting was probably the case. The bottom line is, the boiling chamber was clean and the water level height was kept where it should be - at the discharge-tube level. John would NOT discuss warranty and told me to mail a check to them for $75.00 along with the heating element section of the boiling chamber and they would either repair it or replace it with a new one, regardless of the extent of damage. It is now January 27, 2009. I called and spoke to Phil earlier. He told me they were backed up and that he would check on the status of the repair. I related to him about my dis-satisfaction with the repair procedure, me having to pay $75 for something that should be covered by warranty. It was then that I discovered that Phil is not much different than John with attitude. Phil did not want to hear about my dissatisfaction and told me to tell John, not him. I am going to stop here. I will conclude by saying, BUYER BEWARE. The machine does produce phenominal water as advertised and spoke about by many people. I read a great deal of the posts in this forum, both about the positive and negative of John E. LWM and their service. In light of educating myself of the Pros and Cons I made the decision to buy a machine. The machine DOES leak at the lid a LOT when in operation. It could have been designed better, in my opinion. If the machine needs repair be prepared to PAY, don't count on John honoring the warranty. Because I have now experienced it my self I can say, in my opinion, their service is TERRIBLE - as others in this group had expressed. Conclusion: My opinion is, if you decide to buy a machine and something breaks or burns up, be prepared to pay more money and wait a month or more to get it fixed. Am I a happy customer? No, I am not. Would I recommend this machine to anyone? Only with the forgoing and following caveat, "Let the Buyer Beware". It will produce the best drinking water (as long as you don't use the light tube), but how long till the machine breaks down and needs repair?
