Gallblader Removed at 13; Diagnosed with IBS at 19.

Hello,

I had my gallbladder removed when I was 13. For years I had stomach pains that continually got worse. I went through tons of doctors & testing and no one could find anything wrong with me. My second trip to the emergency room - which was within a few months from my first visit - resulted in the finding of gallstones. They were discovered with an ultrasound. It was quite a surprise, as I had just had an ultrasound a few weeks prior. My parents and I discussed the surgery with my doctor to have my gallbladder removed. It was hard for us to come to a decision, as I was so young, and surgery was such a big thing. We were thinking about alternatives, but my doctor said it was a very simple procedure, and really didn't inform us of any risks, other then the normal anesthetic risks. Within that time, my mother was having the same pains, which sent her to the emergency room. They found that she had Gallstones quite easily. We both had our surgery on the same day. Since then I haven't had any sever, hour long - over night pains, but I am having other stomach pains. Since I have had my gallbladder removed, I have had strengthening stomach pains. Within the past 10 months they have worsened. I am continually having severe abdominal cramping, so bad sometimes it brings me to tears. I have had tons of testing since my gallbladder was removed, blood tests mostly, and no one can find anything wrong with me. About 8 months ago, I went to a gastreo.... specialist. Without doing any testing, he diagnosed me with IBS & set me up with a prescription of Dicyclomine (Generic for Bentyl)... I started taking the medication, but it didn't do much for me. I am now finding it hard for me to eat... Especially going out to eat. I start to settle in to enjoy my meal, and I have to run off to the bathroom. The pain and constant bowel movements are affecting my daily life. I am also getting pretty severe headaches, that can last overnight as well, and Tylenol or any aspirin have no affect on it (Usually once or twice a month). I find myself having a lot of lower back pain as well. I have no idea if this is related or not - but I feel more depressed & tired then I ever have. Is anyone else having similar symptoms? I noticed a lot of people having diahhrea, but are you guys having the other symptoms? Please let me know. I am only 19, and have been dealing with stomach pains for almost my entire life! Please post a response or email me at PunkGrl8080@hotmail.com with any suggestions, your story, etc... Thanks! I look forward to it.
