I'm in the pre-gallbladder removal stage also. I was at my doctors today. I do not have stones, I have to go for a hist-scan to see how my gallbladder is functioning. My doctor said that my gallbladder may not have to be removed. He also said that sometimes when the gallbladder is removed that you have chronic diarrehea. And he mentioned that if I would of had stone that the gallbladder would have to be removed.

I have had diarrhea for 8 months with my gallbladder. I talked to my aunt, who had her non-functioning gallbladder removed 4 years ago and she says everything is good! Although they did nick a duct and had to repair it. Her recovery time was 3 weeks instead of three days. So all these people who are having problems are scaring me. I worried that it will be worse if I have it removed. Hard deicisions-I would like to know some stats on the situation.
