Re: What My Doctor Didn't Want Me To Know About Gallbladder Surgery
I was glad to see one positive message in the middle of this gall bladder discussion. I am one step away from gall bladder removal surgery and would like feedback on this if possible. I actually did not show gall stones on the ultrasound, it was entirely normal. However, the hidescan results were abnormal (17%, when 35% and up is normal). My mother also had a diseased gall bladder that stopped working even though she had no stones. She had her's out 25 yrs ago using the "open" method and had no real problems.
I am also looking at another surgery at this time that will cause me to miss 6 weeks of work and spend 3 days in-hospital.
I'm wondering if anyone has a suggestion on whether to go ahead and get this over with, or to baby it along with a low-fat diet, possible acupuncture and drinking tons of apple juice. I've made it 9 months on the diet and apple juice but my symptoms have become worse lately.
Has anyone tried acupuncture? Should I have another test? Right now I'm confused, the gall bladder "looks" okay, but the failed the functionality test.
I appreciate any help available.
