Re: Every time I eat now Im in the bathroom with diarreah?
I just recently had my gall bladder removed and I guess that I have been very lucky. I read all these horror stories about chronic diareah, pain after gall bladder removal...etc.
I had very regualar bowel movements (first thing in the morning) before removal, and actually only seem to go every couple of days now, which is fine with me, as long as that is healthy.
My surgeon told me that watching your fat intake is KEY in stopping your diarreh. I have been watching my fat intake (reading labels) and so far have had no problem. It is recommended on a 2000 calorie daily diet, no more than 35g of those calories should come from fat. (For health reasons, too, not just to stop diarreah). You really have to label watch, because it is amazing how much fat some things contain. Example, some Hostess/Dolly Madison products like twinkies and ding dongs, pies..stuff like that..can contain your ENTIRE daily fat intake recommendations in one snack...wow! I hope my luck holds out and I have no "after removal" problems...and I wish everyone else the best of luck too! :)
