I have eczema and angular chelitis as well. Although my allergy tests came back negative for everything I know my skin problems are caused by what I eat. For your information, others have tried the wet paper towel/cloth method recommended by doctors. I don’t blame you for thinking doctor’s advice is crazy, though. I don’t think it’s normal to have to apply water on lips every day. Others here have drank lots of water every day to try to cure this condition without success. I was peeling free since almost a year now and I constantly apply bepanthen still whenever I feel dry lips. Also, it is interesting to know if your mother used often antibiotics, or if she used hormonal contraception prior to being pregnant with you. I finally got castor oil yesterday and it’s the first product I’ve ever used that actually works for more than a couple of hours. Smith’s Rosebud Salve is also a good product to seal in moisture. Why play war with small guns, when the largest gun is flushed down the toilet every day. I’ve been doing this for about 4 months and there have been periods when I wouldn’t let my lips dry out at all and the peeling completely stopped, or it was so slight that I didn’t notice the skin coming off. I haven’t posted or read this forum here in years, but I just wanted to share the best thing I have found to manage and almost heal my EC! It’s pretty simple. Whenever I notice that my lips are feeling dry I wet them with my tongue, making sure to saturate them with saliva, then apply Burt bees lip balm to seal in the moisture. I was feeling tired and went to the dr. my hemoglobin was normal but I asked to get my ferritin tested (ferritin tests storage iron).
