Hi There
I have been suffering with dry peeling lips for the last year. About 2 years ago I discovered that I had food intolerances / allergies to nightshades, soya and oranges and had to radically change my diet. Last year I did a candida cleanse and started to eat fermented food, health wise I feel tip top but the lip thing started , so I was focussing on the allergies I was aware of. I have been on holiday for the last month avoiding the worst of the winter here in UK and noticed how dairy intake affected my lip problem. I had access to milk, kefir, cheese etc for the first part of my holiday and still had the problem. For the second part of the holiday I was in the jungle and on the beach and my lip problem disappeared. For the first time in a year completely normal. The penny dropped, there was no refrigerated food so I hadn't taken any dairy! When I got back to the city I sneaked a cheese sandwich (how British) and the lips flared up. On my return to UK I saw my allergy tester and found that I had developed an allergy to all dairy and acidophilus that has been cultured on dairy too.
I have been completely off the dairyer a week and my lips are on the mend. Suffering a bit in the cold dry weather but very much under control. looking forward to the summer and restored full health. I'm going to miss the dairy but I'm sure something better will show up.
