missed story? gluten free and casein free diet cured EC

I don't know if you missed this comment within a link I posted. I think it's important because it shows EC may be as simple as food intolerance (not all cases, but maybe many cases).

Story from this page:
http://www.ourhealth.com/conditions/mouth-conditions/need-help-peeling-lips-amp-amp-inflamation-linked-to-protein

quote
"I have had peeling lips for 30 years, and when I finally tried going gluten and casein free, the problem cleared up about 70%, and if I avoid eggs and soy also, then the problem goes away completely. For years people thought I had this nervous habit of picking my lips, but I always knew it wasn't that and that something else was causing it. I'm not sure what the interaction is exactly, but it is at least nice to know that I can stop if if i want to by following the right diet."

End quote

By the way, corn and casein have similar protein as gluten so I'm going to avoid them even if they don't seem to be causing problems for me. I know not all celiacs are as sensitive to casein, though. Notice how this poster was also sensitive to eggs and soy? I think many people on a gluten-free diet eat eggs or soy. Like I said, not all celiacs are as sensitive to similar proteins.
