There's a pretty good video I'll link you to (quite long however) but its a study on baboons...Its been a long time since I've watched it (for a psychology class a couple years ago)The non-alpha males had elevated stress hormones and consequently got sicker a lot more and ended up with more disease or lower immunity, etc.
