Re: GAS model outdated and inaccurate...

You'll have more credibility not hiding behind an anonymous #.

"marketing purposes...tried to capitalize on it"

That should be the first clue "AF" isn't real.

"GAS is still in text medical texts today"

Then why does the medical community dismiss "Adrenal Fatigue" instead of saying that's just they nickname given to GAS by holistic doctors?

I'm not debating to try to just win an argument. I'm trying to prevent people from wasting their money treating a bogus condition and for most in the AF support section to stop under-eating.

Isn't quite the coincidence that almost everyone here complaining of "AF" is under-eating and starvation is listed under the definition of GAS?

"General adaptation syndrome, or GAS, is a term used to describe the body's short-term and long-term reactions to stress.
Stressors in humans include such physical stressors as starvation, being hit by a car, or suffering through severe weather. Additionally, humans can suffer such emotional or mental stressors as the loss of a loved one, the inability to solve a problem, or even having a difficult day at work."
http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/general+adaptation+syndrome

The wiki page on stress that mentions GAS even says exactly what I say "AF" really is:

"Factors causing an organism’s condition to diverge too far from homeostasis can be experienced as stress. A life-threatening situation such as a major physical trauma or prolonged starvation can greatly disrupt homeostasis."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stress_%28biology%29#Biological_need_for_equilibrium

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stress_%28biology%29#General_adaptation_syndrome_.28GAS.29

Even if people here still want to believe "AF" is real, why do most dismiss or downplay under-eating as a cause?
