This report demonstrates a case of atopic dermatitis that was unresponsive to topical steroid therapy. This clinical report highlights the fact that metals used in dental treatment, such as mercury, as well as cross‐reactions between nickel and palladium, may cause systemic hypersensitivity or toxicity.

Some users of the drug Accutane (there have been lawsuits concerning this) have developed intestinal damage which causes food allergies and intolerances. I think the problem with food allergies and intolerances is that people usually have more than one. It's hard to know what to avoid since some skin allergy tests come back positive for certain foods while allergy blood tests come back negative. If anyone knows, I would like to know if one can eat foods that show up as positive in allergy skin tests (rash symptom), but negative in allergy blood tests?
      
      The evolution theory didn't make sense about EC, though, because it's a minor condition in which sufferers can still thrive.

Just putting this out there because it's definitely made an improvement in my feet. I've never known the cause of my peeling feet- candida/ athlete's foot/ ??? but I've always battled with it (20 years maybe). I've been using rice water for my hair and skin and have since noticed a major improvement in my feet. When they peeled initially the skin came off easily in the bath #tmi and my feet have been left soft and smooth, and I only have a very minor amount of flaky skin on my heels left. I will update if continued use cures the problem further but just an initial report here! Rice water is just made from soaking rice, stirring it after an hour and funnelling the water into a container. Leave the water out for 24 hours before storing in the fridge. It lasts about a week. I just massage it all over, leave it for 5 mins and then rinse off. Hope this helps!

  I have a ZAQ Noor essential oil diffuser. I love it and use it everyday. It covers about 350 sq'. Perfect next to the bed while you sleep or on a desk at work. Just don't use any type of citrus EO in a diffuser. The acid breaks down the plastic. There is no reason not to try an EO diffuser. They are cheap and portable and an easy way to incorporate EOs into your regimen, plus they make your house smell great!

      Why do my lips appear in better shape without white gunk forming after I get my teeth cleaned?. Have you also noticed that? The dental hygienist removes biofilm on your teeth. I think dentists may now understand us if we say we are getting biofilm from bacteria on our lips... possibly inside cracks in lips causing them to exfoliate.

        So 15 months later...any updates? I'm on my 3rd day of Cortibalm...it's no cure, but this is the best my lips have felt in a long time.     i'm not really sure... it just says desonide .05 on the label... comes in a petrolumen base... i've found that after getting the lips wet and applying by dabbing on a thin layer it looks and feels good after it air drys for a bit and does not knockoff any buildup... actually it's better because the lubrication makes my mouth easier to move without it cracking... lips have been feeling great the last couple days doing this with vaseline and des.

I stopped using all products with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) over the past 6 months, and the difference it has made is nothing short of miraculous. My skin and hair are now totally normal and healthy.

As for my lips, my seemingly endless chapping, cracking and even bleeding (mostly from my picking at the dry skin), is for the first time in more than 10 years totally gone. I have normal lips! For more than a month now! I can hardly believe it.

The change in my lips did not happen overnight, but gradually over a month or so. I switched to toothpaste and mouthwash with no SLS or harsh ingredients. I also no longer wash my face (which would include my lips) with anything but super mild, natural cleansers that contain no SLS.

For me, this really seems to have done the trick. Since I have not changed anything else in my life or routine, either the removal of SLS was the cure for me, or it is a huge coincidence that everything healed up on its own at this particular time. I have added no new supplements or medications, no stopping of any supplements or medications, no changes in diet or living conditions. So my personal conclusion is that the SLS was the culprit all along. If you read labels, it is in the vast majority of products, but it can be avoided if you make a little effort.

If people would like me to post which skin care / oral care products I have been using, I will gladly do so. I will also try not to post and disappear, in case there are follow up questions.

      I'm glad the candida diet worked so fast for you. But that doesn't mean it'll work for everyone. It didn't work for me ater a couple months. Angular Cheilitis symptoms are red and cracked corners of the mouth that can be mild or quite severe.

Exfoliative Cheilitis is severe peeling of the lips of which I know little about.

ANGULAR CHEILITIS is typically a yeast infection in the mouth and is in the saliva. The saliva collects in the corners of the mouth (typically while sleeping) and irritates the area around the corners of the mouth. Nystatin ointment (costs $4 at Walmart and Sams Club) that can be prescibed by a dentist or physician works quite well. Apply to the mouth corners a few times a day and at bedtime. Try sleeping on your back instead of your side to reduce drooling, etc. It's also important to do everything possible to reduce the bacteria in the mouth such as flossing daily; keeping all dental work (bridges, dentures, partials, etc.) very clean; and occasionally rinsing the mouth out with salt water (I prefer Sea Salt over table salt .

I can't say I know what caused my angular cheilitis. Not sure if it's related, but I got it while battling some sinus problems. My physician said it can sometimes be caused by diabetes, but I checked out ok for that.
