Re: Cured my lifelong lip peeling of over 20 plus years !
I'm fortunate enough to have enough money to spend on tests for deficiences/toxicities which ideally everyone here should have.
Consider the fact that I have a diagnosed autoimmune disease, that being lichen sclerosus, and many autoimmune diseases occur from either deficiency or toxicity.
What I want to know is whether gluten sensitivity causes the peeling and other skin ailments or whether it only irritates whatever else that is causing the skin problems. My gut feeling is that it is the cause of inflammation but there are other triggers as well. There are so many food and environmental triggers. That's what I need to find out.
I had an allergy patch test in 2008 for a host of difference substances and was found to be allergic to colophony, myroxolon pereirae (balsam of peru), abitol and sandalwood oil.
So there's a lot more for me to find out, but it is a relief to be able to function with the lips how they are now.
