I've had a lyme disease test. Actually, I had one done through a regular lab which was covered by insurance. Then, a few months later I had more extensive lyme tests done by a lab that specialized in it. I can't remember if I paid $400 out of pocket for that. Although the speclalized lab concluded that I didn't have lyme disease, an infectitious disease doctor who specialized in lyme disease confirmed I had it because there was a blood test result which changed from negative to positive within those few months. The specialized lab didn't see prior blood test results. If I had that same test done at a regular lab again, I don't know if it would have been negative or positive.

Because I requested my current primary care doctor to write a prescription to have a lyme disease blood test to send to the specialized lab, he told me never to come back because there's no such thingg as lyme disease so everyone who believes in it is crazy or just trying to find something wrong that isn't there. I had poor quality insurance at the time making me stuck with doctors like this, but there are other doctors like him.

I still don't know if i have lyme disease or not. I never went back to the infectitious doctor because he wanted to treat me for months yor years with Antibiotics and I didn't know for sure that I have it. Tweet
