Re: support forum

Dear Nglassman and others,
I have read all with great interest, as I have been raw vegan for almost three months now, and have just gotten over a terrible problem with upper respiratory infection. I too am eating way too many nuts, with detrimental results, but I find myself quite dependent on them. I have recently read Victoria Boutenko's book, Green For Life and find her research fascinating. I was doing well on blended green drinks, and need a little Kim Chee almost every day for the fermentation. Candida is my bane, and I am contemplating a liver cleanse, as I have more petechiae on me now. Mind you, I had them before! And I had misery before this diet....obese, bloating, intolerant of wheat, oats, grains! Miserable cravings, then sick as a dog after satisfying the craving and never feeling content. I weigh less now than I have since marriage, maybe high school. If you can eat flesh foods and not crave, go for it. I was raw for 3 weeks and went back to cooked with meats and was more miserable than ever. The body is so resilient, and you adapted so well to being raw, that I find it impossible to imagine that your "digestion" is ruined. Makes me suspect there is something else afoot, but after a careful reading of all postings, find you seem well informed and knowledgable, and it would seem you are going in the right direction. Some of the assertions that we MUST have meat or cooked foods to be healthy seem a bit unrealistic. There are many healthy raw foodists...I know a woman who manages her diabetes quite effectively with it, for many years. I would assert that there is no "right" diet for everyone...and wish you all the best finding the "best" diet for you!! And then, enjoy life....outdoors, exercise, love.....wishing you great happiness!!
