I live in a place that has chlorinated water, so strong that it makes me feel a little sick when I smell it. After moving here is when my scalp started getting red and burning. I do believe that I've had Seborrheic Dermatitis for years, but it wasn't bad enough for me to worry too much about. I've done a lot of research online about how to cure it or at least make it manageable. One of the things I read about was someone finding out that his dermatitis was improved when he drank orange juice (vit c). At the same time I read about removing the chlorine from water by dissolving a small amount of vit c in water. I tried it and it worked. It caused the chlorine to become a gas. So, I added things together and after a year of trying many, many different things I made a distilled water/vit c (ascorbic acid) solution and put it in a dark glass bottle with a dropper. I parted my hair with the dropper and when I withdrew it squeezed a small amount and rubbed it into my scalp. For the first time in more than 6 months I have no redness, itching or burning on my scalp. The formula is: 1/8 teaspoon vit c powder to 2 tablespoons distilled water. You could probably make it a little stronger but if it's too strong it will dry out your hair and make it clump.
