Just Don’t Give Up. Be patient!

Hi! Yes Bulldancer is right! I tried Sea Salt but I found Himalayan salt to be more effective. In the beginning it seemed to work but still not a cure so I applied milk of magnesia on my face and washed it off-sometimes just on certain spots and went to sleep. This cooled my face and reduced the redness. Finally, I have been juicing wheatgrass (no gluten or wheat in it just its name) and apply it to my face for 20 minutes then wash off. This seems to be working to heal my face.
Recap: Sea Salt killed the yeast, Himalayan Salt was gentler on my skin, milk of magnesia cooled my face (and kills bacteria) and the wheat grass is healing the skin.
I did change my diet-look into Ayurveda. I found out my dosha (type) is Pitta and was eating all the wrong foods that cause SD. It is usually the foods you love and crave that give flare ups and leave your digestion unbalanced. It was a lot of trial and error and days when I would just cry wondering if I would ever look normal again.
Rundown: I changed all my products (makeup, shampoo, lotions) to natural paraben free, sulfate free, OIL FREE even tooth paste. Read labels. I bought an oil free moisturizer then found the last ingredient was essential oil. How is it oil free then? I do not use soap on my face just salt water and the Aveeno that Bulldancer suggested.
In the morning I wash with a solution of 1 teaspoon Himalayan Salt. It stings sometimes and my face turns red but I try to leave it on till it dries then wash off with cool water and air dry. I juice my breakfast-first wheat grass alone. I get about 1 oz and drink it on empty stomach and use the rest left in the glass for my face. Dap on and wash off with cool water 20 minutes later. Then juice the rest of my breakfast all anti-inflammatory veggies for a 8 oz drink. (1 cucumber, 2 leaves collard greens, 2 kale leaves, 2 stalks Celery and 1 carrot greens and all)
If my face is tight I use a tiny bit of Aveeno Baby Eczema Relief mixed with water to make it slippery on my face then pat dry.
(*Oh, in the beginning I did not have Aveeno and use Neosporin. This worked great I saw improvement but it is too greasy to use all the time.)
If I am home and feel itchy I use the milk of magnesia it is Shop Rite brand b/c it was the one with very few ingredients. I take a cotton ball and dab on the spots or my cheeks and when it dries I wash with cool water. The residue might stay but since I am home I just leave it.
At night I conduct the same routine as morning except the wheat grass and I let my face breath-no moisturizer. It has been a little over a week and I am seeing results. I was at my wits end before I found Bulldancer. I cried searching the web b/c three dermatologists and their solution always steroids. I knew that this could not be right and Bulldancer gave me hope I read the blog everyday just for support and affirmation that I would find relief. I have; it is a journey of self care and discovery.
FYI: I got SD during a stressful time in College, no money, poor eating and high level stress. Then I used steroids that suppressed the healing making it worst.
When I first started Bulldancer’s regimen I broke out viciously, I stopped all steroids and just let it all come out. I am not 100 % yet but I am positive now that I will regain my balance. It will get worse before it gets better. Just Don’t Give Up. Have patients. I know it’s easier said than done but I am going through it too and you can do it! Good Luck and May God Bless you on your way to finding your equilibrium.
