Bulldancer, please allow me to share the cure that I have found for scalp seb derm after realizing as we all do that the dermatologists can't do it for us. I put down my steroids, stopped washing my hair every day as directed, stopping using antifungal shampoos, and am free to have my life back. Here is what freed me:

BRUSH WITH A 100% BOAR BRISTLE BRUSH FROM THE SCALP TWICE A DAY. If you have long hair, brush all the way through the hair or only part of the way, just move the oil from your scalp. Brush very thoroughly and be sure to brush from the scalp. Natural boar bristles attract oils and move them from your scalp. I wash my hair every fourth day when it seems very dirty, because that is my preference. I use no special shampoo, but I wash, rinse, repeat, use conditioner but none on the scalp, and then rinse my scalp with clean water very well.

From the day I started this 10 or 11 months ago, I never picked up a specialty product again, other than to put it away in my bathroom closet.
