Re: Re Re Re A whole lemon working better than ascorbic etc. C,
Hi Lorica,
Just some thoughts and observations here: I have personally ingested over 800
pounds of ascorbic acid [in HEALTH, not illness], over the past 20 years. Good research and theory are great, but my view would be that, since life is ultimately a mystery, experience trumps theory, every time! Why do I not get sick, including even a headache, EVER? Why do I FEEL good ALL of the time? Surely, if ingesting too/so much ascorbic acid is bad for one's health, I, of ALL people, should have noticed a health problem by now!
My view, Lorica, is that 20 years is MORE than enough of a test. I appreciate your concern for my health [and I mean that], but does that not strike you as a little out of place, given my [health] circumstances for this long? Maybe I am damaging myself. Maybe a fatal disease is building within me. How can I KNOW for sure? I say I will trust by body, i.e. how I FEEL, to let me know [as long as I am ingesting NO drugs whatsoever, i.e. that would be "masking" its warning signals].
I would ask, Lorica: If I am overly acidic, why is my saliva pH alkaline? I can assure you, the sicker people get, the more acidic their saliva pH gets! If an alkaline URINE pH is so critical, how did Dr. Cathcart get all of those incredible health results, dealing with people who medical
Science essentially could NOT help, using MEGA gram doses [often in the HUNDREDS of grams per day] of ascorbic acid? I say, Lorica, the "proof is in the pudding" [vs. in putting theory first].
Yes, I also would fear ingesting that much sodium, at least over a very extended period of time.
I once read a very small book [45 years ago], Lorica, that actually argued that ANY supplemental vitamin C was bad for you! There is EVERY kind of opinion in the world out there, and I empathize with your difficulty [and I mean that] in trying to come up with "the truth!" Do you think you can do that absolutely/categorically with reading/study/research ALONE? I would say that will NEVER be possible! Yes, all those things can give you "grist for your mill," but in the final analysis, you will have to decide for yourself. My experience is that you will have NO choice, i.e. to do exactly that. If you just do not feel up to that challenge [and, believe me, I do know of, at least some of, those difficulties], my best advice would be to pick a particular health practitioner that makes the most [or at least a lot of] sense to you, and follow their regimen for as long as it seems to work for you. What other choice(s) have you [or, for that matter, any of us] got?
I hope I have touched upon ALL of your concerns here, Lorica. If not, by-all-means, please post them.
You have all my best wishes, Lorica, for a successful outcome to your search [and health issues]!
All my best,
David
