Re: I am eating myself sick, and I want to stop!
I sometimes overeat raw foods after a fast. The longer the fast the less this is likely to happen though. If you think about it, it takes a few days to get into full ketosis and then the body has had three days on reduced nutrition so if you break the fast too soon the body itself may still be fairly ravenous from being on short commons so to speak. While we are still fasting this is no problem- we just devour as much fat as we need for energy- and may be one of the reasons why we lose so much weight in the early days of the fast. However if we break the fast in these early days we risk being caught up in that need for more sustenance. I think this generally lessens as the body gets used to doing regular fasts but certainly it is a factor in the early days of our fasting.
My body rarely wants food now while fasting or while eating, it's still the emotional habit of wanting to do that activity and the actual comfort of having it move through my body. It is after all the only intimate contact with anything my body has with anything most of the time and that intimacy is a hard habit to break.
If you're overeating to the point where it's uncomfortable for you, with too much food in your digestion system, causing pain even, you know it's not hunger causing the need for food you need to look elsewhere for the answer.
Good luck,
Andrew.
