Re: I am eating myself sick, and I want to stop!

xanderfrancish,
thank you for your contribution.

As an addition to it I think the well known phrase "all diets work and all diets fail" apply here. Reducing diets do indeed work in losing weight, but then the majority of people will return to eating "normally" again post-diet, and all the pounds go back on again: a vicious circle for many people.

I think the discomfort you are referring to after the transition to a raw-food diet comes from the switch to a high-alkaline diet (which raw food is) from a basically westernized acid-forming one, plus what I referred to in my previous post with regard to eating too many concentrated foods, instead of high-water-content foods, which our bodies were designed to deal with.
Shelton once wrote of a case he attended where a man broke an extended fast on beefsteak (very concentrated) and mashed potatoes..........he died !!!

I'm not sure how anyone could overload on fiber just so long as the raw food is of a high-water-content with not too many concentrated foods.

The very best diet available doesn't necessarily mean that the body will digest it, as the power of digestion can be severely diminished, and/or even suspended altogether in illness and disease: the bodys way of telling you that food cannot be processed and assimilated by the digestive organs.

Post-fast-feeding will depend on its length; the longer the fast, the more care is needed in breaking it, especially after the return of hunger where feeding will need to be controlled for a certain period of time thereafter.

Whether someone chooses to eat meat or not is a matter of preference and personal choice, in fact I do eat some white organic meat and oily fish myself; even some Natural Hygienists advocate the eating of some meat, but whether someone is a frugivore or omnivore or herbivore it is not for me or anyone else to dictate which type of diet is best, only what we have experienced ourselves and what agrees with our system: although I can think of many reasons why not to eat red-meat, especially processed meats of all kinds.

Regards

chrisb1.
