Re: I am eating myself sick, and I want to stop!

We have enough enzymes to break down and fully digest and absorb all the raw foods we eat. We could eat grass if necessary, I just can't imagine spending my whole day grazing like a sheep just to get the amount we'd need. We couldn't live on gum leaves like a koala or digest a lot of stuff a goat seems to be able to shove in it's mouth but when we talk about raw food on here we are not talking about anything extreme like that.

Our enzymes are quite healthy, and far healthier when we fast regularly AND eat raw foods, which provide their own. This is one thing cooked and processed foods are sadly lacking in. The first thing to be destroyed by cooking if you like, the living part of the food. This is why cooked foods, even lightly steamed vegetables, aren't the bees knees and raw food is. Cooked foods have various amounts of 'dead' content which is just of no use to us and requires energy to expel. And then if we don't eat it correctly the body does not get a chance to expel that dead content and that's where the need to store toxic waste comes in.

Raw foods are simply the foods that we have been surrounded by for most of our evolution and the foods that are meant to be consumed by any animal. Any food we construct, especially just paying attention to 'parts' of the food instead of the whole value of a food, is always going to be second best to what nature has been providing us with for millions of years.

Andrew.
