Re: Women: open to non-sexual relationships?
Hello all,
First, I think this thread is soooooo convoluted already that I did not even want to get involved. It is a never ending debate.
Since Grizz is asking my opinion I will state what I know from my experience.
1. Men and women are attracted to each other instinctively to balance their needs. Do we make mistakes in knowing someone else's desire or motives? Yes, we all do.
2. Men and women are made differently, men are bumble bees bouncing from one flower to the other. Women tend to stick to one. Exceptions are there in everything. In nature you will see majority animal life has one male in charge of five or more females, sometimes more. Opposite of this scenario is also seen in nature. Saskatchewan unversity did a study on King Fisher bird colony by use of cameras and tagging the birds. What they found was that the female birds chose a male on the basis of where they had built the nest, a safe nest, best nest. But when time came to have sex/ procreation, the female birds chose a male that was attractive and they layed eggs in their nest and the best nest guy thinks the hatchlings are his babies, he feeds them, keeps them warm, etc. then the female bird goes and finds another male, story repeats. Entire colony was doing this. Some manly males had all the fun. This is I tinctive to keep the colony the fittest.
3. Most animals have sex quickly and are done. There are examples in nature where there is a long courtship, long foreplay and then sex that lasts long time too. Humans have those varieties too, some want quick sex and are done, some want to be sensual and take their time and enjoy love making.
4. The intelligent animal, humans learned to use sex to gain power over another being. This is again debatable wether it is good or bad, but this a need for someone who is insecure and finds security this way. Manly men and womanly women too, will have sex with anyone, male or female to control them. And they find those who are looking to be controlled.
5. There are men and women who are not so sexual and are attracted to each other, they live in a loving relationship and do not need to have sex. Their focus in life is on other things.
6. There are men and women(lesser in number, though) who have a great ability or choose to channel their sexual desires and energy in to energy useful to them in other aspects of life, I.e. Saints and gurus.
7. Lastly, there are men and women who become what I call dwarf planet who once were circling around a great star(someone very attractive) and get yanked off either by rejection or hate and no longer can circle around anybody, thus become just like a dwarf planet.
These are my personal observations and there are more things I can discuss, but most of it will be argued and debated.
In god's symphony we are all a different note.
Peace,
