Flaxseed oil has an inhibiting effect on some bacteria such as helicobacter. I think that I was drawn to it for that reason. You say that you have stopped eggs and nuts which are high protein and require stomach acid for digestion. Have you tested your stomach acid function? Have you had a test for helicobacter pylori? Flaxseed oil and Chia seeds are not really a good alternative to fish oil because although they contain Omega 3 oils the oils are far less effective and do not really provide enough of DHA. As far as I have read, the best kind of flax seed oil is the kind that *comes refrigerated*, where the manufacturer specifies that it needs to stay in your refrigerator. What is better, nutritionally? I read that the body cannot digest whole flax seed so it should be ground before soaking. If that is the case, can the body digest flax seed that is soaked but not ground? Personally, I prefer soaking the seeds and eating them with the moist, gel-like substance around them. Hi there I have just discovered a lump on my dog’s neck. She is a terrier - about 20 kg. I don’t have a formal diagnosis, but I know it could be a thyroid tumor. People have done it with flax oil, I believe only once, and decided there is no advantage over other cheaper oils. Of all oils, flax is the most unstable. It goes rancid very fast. It should be kept frozen and in a dark, to extend the shelf life, but none of the stores are keeping it frozen. Some keep it refrigerated. It is also much more expensive than olive oil, or any other oil. Flax oil is the best with cottage cheese or with yogurt (budwig diet). For liver flush, I would choose other oils. WS   [End]

I keep reading to only use 2 spoons of flaxseed, n as good as it tastes, that’s not enough. Some talk of using 1 cup, or part of one cup... from what I’ve seen people use up to 2 cups in recipes, though I don’t know that that’s an amt they are okay to eat in one sitting. I haven’t seemed to acquire any new symptoms after eating random amts larger than 2 spoons. I make sure to not eat an entire bowlful, but it has been probably at least half a cupfull sometimes... To answer my own question about using kefir as a starter to make goat milk quark, it works very well. I like the taste of the quark like it is. I also like variety, so sometimes I add flavoring of some sort, and sometimes some xylitol to sweeten it up. I also sometimes use a blender and make smoothies. I have been drinking raw goat’s milk for a year or so. This Spring when beets were in season I started letting some of the milk clabber to get the whey to use for a starter making beet kvass. (WOW!! I did and it has ruined the natural shape of my cheeks and the area around my eyes and I now look hideous.. Thank you for your suggestions. I do not have low iron. I know that from the test the Red Cross does when you give blood. The test is not precise, but the nurses have told me several times that my blood sample sinks faster than average, suggesting that I have a high iron level. I do take synthetic vitamins. In the last couple of years, I have been experiencing cold hands more and more frequently. I don’t see any symptoms of Raynaud’s Disease or poor circulation. I don’t feel cold except in my hands.
