Re: Circumcision - a male view
ajay,
Thanks for your apology. I figured you didn't mean it the way it came out. Again from what I have seen through pictures, diagrams and photographs there IS a similar corrolation between the male and female sexual organs. It is more evident when observed from eight weeks old and right after birth. There is a geat diagram I found showing how the foreskin and the hood of the clitoris are derived from the same tissue and have similar nerve endings. "Male and female genitals develop from the same embryonic tissue and, as most people know, have corresponding parts."

Now I don't want to offend anyone's religious beliefs here but only to show that there are misconceptions that arise when we do not have all the scientific facts and/or religious understanding under our belt. If you are someone who is easily offended please don't read further. But, since you said that circumcision "...stood the test of time when the ancient Jews did it as a sign of cleanliness and their covenant with God." it might be important to note that even Paul's Letter to the Philippians was anti-circumcision as follows:
Galatians 5:2
Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. (KJV)
Galatians 5:3
For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. (KJV)
Galatians 5:4
You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace. (WEB)
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. (KJV)
Galatians 5:6
For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. (KJV)
Galatians 6:12
As many as desire to look good in the flesh, they compel you to be circumcised; only that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. (WEB)
Galatians 6:13
For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh. (KJV)
Galatians 6:15
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. (KJV)
For in Christ Jesus neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. (WEB)
