Re: Tithing did not work for me
Hello 27655,
I find that the most admirable quality of ANYBODY who is godly (generic sense) or recognizes a higher power is CONSCIENTIOUSNESS. If your actions/behavior/deeds are governed by your conscience (which, I find to be uncommon in society), then you are living in a Godly manner and deserve the utmost respect because of it. Many people are not conscientious and are in the habit of doing things only for their own good, no matter how reckless. They end up feeling bad about themselves (for good reason, low self-esteem) and their ego haunts them constantly (poetic justice), so they constantly (and feverishly) try to find someone else to BLAME. Don't feel blame on my account, it is unproductive and I never found a use for it. If, in fact, someone is RESPONSIBLE for something happening, then, that is fact. Very often, people aren't really concerned about who is RESPONSIBLE for something happening (because, then they would also have to accept responsibility for their own actions also), they're concerned with being able to inflict BLAME on someone else. Now, I know where BLAME comes from, and it is not from God. You are not at fault for your bad experience with Christianity, I've seen how God is presented as almost being MAN MADE. Religion is a word that is used in different (and sloppy) ways and can have different meanings, but the bottom line is,...God is not a religion, God is the Creator. So, don't turn away from God, turn away from RELIGION.
