Re: GOD versus religion - my 2c worth

I was just reading a book last night on Shamanism. The author rightly states, "Jesus was not a Christian." He followed his own path. I think it was Gandhi who said that the Christian scriptures moved him, but he had never found one person who really practiced Christianity. It is sad that organized religion has ruined the message of many wise masters. Masters who essentially told us, "look within." But for those in "authority" this was threatening. So, religion reframes the truths of wise prophets and says, "look to us." Also, most organized religions are quite patriarchal. I am most attracted to Native views of the sacred, which balance a feminine and masculine view of all that is. Even the word "God" is too restrictive for the sacredness of all that is........we are from an awesome place and made of awesome stuff. And this is what all the wisest masters have taught. Peace.
