I will openly admit that I do not understand the unbelief of God. Is it just not believing in God as most christian religions teach of "him" or is it more like true atheism? What bring a person to that level of belief/unbelief? In not believeing in an afterlife, how do you direct your actions?

I understand if you don't wish to answer my questions. I am just curious about this way of belief as I've never spoken to anyone like that before. Blame it on my sociology degree! :)
