Re: Tithing did not work for me

As I said, I am just tired of the bad influence of Christianity on society. I am tired of the horrible things Christians do to other people, because they are convinced they are right and everybody else is wrong. Christianity demeans the individual because of the belief in original sin and substitutionary atonement. I REFUSE TO ACCEPT BLAME FOR A COUPLE OF FRUIT MUNCHING SIMPLETONS WHOSE STORY IS A FAIRY TALE ANYWAY.

I will never go to a Christian church again. It's morally bankrupt and quite inconsistent.

I find more relevant teachings in Hinduism and Buddhism.

There is no "Jesus died for your sins" in those ancient traditions.

Just simple rules and ONE standard of morality: Do not harm another person or another living thing, even to the point of not eating animals (although I do eat meat). Do good for others.

That is much better ethics for me than the doctrines of original sin and substituionary atonement. I do not believe them anyway.

Krupa, I hope you are doing research on lots of other religions! It's quite fascinating.
