I’m so glad to have found this blog. I’ve had Mirena inserted six months ago and about three months ago my sciatic nerve began acting up. The insertion was pretty painful in itself. Yes, absolutely it can be the Mirena! Hormones are powerful, and as so many women here have attested, Mirena can SERIOUSLY mess them up. I sweat a lot, I usually never sweat. I do kickboxing and it’s a puddle of sweat around me now. I feel hot all the time, like my body is on fire. Is the doctor from Kansas, is it Dr. J? Yes, I did do a detox with him, I was desperate with my side effects, they were destroying my life. There is no debate on whether ms is a mental health disorder. It is an actual medical condition. There are lesions on your brain and Obands in your spinal fluid. Nerve studies to show that nerves are damaged. Secondary problems such as trigeminal neuralgia which is the most painful condition known to man. That tissue looks scary, I would go to a doctor. Also, regarding UTI’s, make sure she gets a thorough check up as I got an infection from Mirena in my uterus. Hi, My 28yo SO had a Mirena IUD inserted 4 months ago. After a couple months of feeling like she ”always has a UTI”, we decided to try removing it at home by pulling the strings. OMGOODNESS! Yes!I’ve been having this issue too.this is the second time in two years that ive had this yeast like discharge. I’ve also had jelly like discharge that is the color of an egg yolk. Ive had a ton of tests done including yeast tests that come up negative. I know this is not normal. I’ve never had any trouble with dryness and yeast infections. It doesn’t itch or smell, its just there! I’m definitely going to have my IUD removed. I cant deal with this! I’m so glad that I’m not the only one. Wow, you’re symptoms are so, so similar similar to the ones I had. I am much better now at 4 1/2 years post removal, but it took me some time, and I still have some lingering symptoms. I’m glad you have it out. May your recovery go smoothly! Don’t be alarmed if sometimes things get worse, or if symptoms go away and then pop up again, or if something NEW comes up. This is normal. Hi I’m so glad I found this forum, I feel like I’ve been going out of my mind trying to figure out what has been wrong with my body. It would of been 2 years this July that I would of had my Mirena in, I had it removed 3 weeks ago. So glad I did. Hi, I got the mirena just over 3 years ago, before i did, i had arm numbness and chest pains, but since mirena my problems have become more severe. I went to a chiropractor firsr, thinking pinched nerve, he said he thought it was a pinched nerve and we started alighnments. After almost a year and not much relief unless i went every other day, i quit going. thank god im not the only one.. Im a massage therapist and having this rash is NOT good for my career. In 2010 I had the Mirena in. Since then I have had mild rashes here and there and some outbreaks of hives from who knows what. The doctors kept telling me ist just the usual eczema and possible insect bite. I have something very similar but a little higher up..underneath the rib cage on my side that aches in both directions front and back. Sometimes it just aches and sometimes it hurts pretty severely. I had ultrasound and blood work and everything looked completely normal. I actually didn’t get the pain until after having mirena removed. It’s getting better for the time being . Hi there, I think it could be related. Prior to being on mirena I would occasionally experience some back pain while ovulating. After the mirena was in I experienced some significant back pain on and off. I would take ibuprofen but it seemed to just come and go as it pleased. Nothing really caused it. After having mirena out I have experienced numerous other issues. Including some GI stuff...they found that my gall bladder had a lower ejection fraction however concluded that it wasn’t so low that it needed removed and in the grand scheme of things I had other GI issues that may have ...

Wow, Jenny, I’m so sorry to hear about these problems. I almost considered a Mirena - it was being pushed by my OBGYN as a safe, easy thing. Reading these posts make me glad I held off!
