OMG this is so me...hello to you MS.Faith. I'm reaching out to you to see what your outcome was. I was a healthy, smart young lady who was hardly ever sick!! I'll admit I had migraines that would show up but it wasn't disabling. I said hello to the Mirena in 12/07. Everything was going well, my periods finally stopped then after a little while longer I had a GRAND MAL seizure. I've NEVER had one before and neither have ANYONE in my family. They continued to happen so I had the IUD removed(it was an argument). Ofcourse I went to a neurologist, told her my story & ofcourse she wanted to put me on MEDS. I was totally PISSED. I took the meds as I was told & seizures still came, ill admit they weren't the shaking ones, I would just stare off. I tried 3 different meds AND NEITHER WORKED!!, I would just suffer the side effects :-( I had a moment when I realized whenever these things happened either my period was "coming" or already there!!! so I tell the brain dr what I've discovered and they STILL DONT CARE OR HEAR ME!!(all they want to do is drug me up) I do research & discover their is an actual thing called CATAMENIAL EPILEPSY and its seizures from HORMONAL BALANCE!!! DO THE dr.s hear me NOPE...I would LOVE TO SUE because I'm now disabled and mow cant continue my college career. HELP!!!! what did you do!!? Tweet
