Re: IUDs (Mirena) side effects and helping each other

I tried to go to your questionnaire, but it won't come up...

I had a Mirena in for a total of 8 years (5 years on the first and almost 3 on the 2nd one). I had NO idea my issues could be side effects of this wonderful device.. I have gained a total of 60 pounds.. mostly in the last 2 years, had migraine headaches regularly, dizziness, blood pressure issues (it fluctuates wildly, both up and down), a racing heartbeat frequently for no reason, SEVERE cramps, lower back pain, moodiness, "foggy" brain, Itchy skin, leg cramps, severe bloating... and had no period for like the last 6 or 7 years.. I had it removed 8 days ago and have bled at least some every day. I am wondering how long this will go on. I started researching when someone mentioned to me they saw all those things as side effects somewhere, and when I looked up the list, I had all but a couple of the possible ones. My headaches have eased, the leg cramps are gone.. I HAVE, however, been running to the bathroom like a pregnant woman.. sometimes several times in an hour.. it's like I have retained a HUGE amount of fluid and my body is getting rid of it. My weight loss so far has been minimal, but I have more energy, so should be able to exercise more.
