Hi,
I had my mirena removed 4 months ago and unfortunately also still experiencing removal symptoms. I have left a message yesterday in reply to a similar thread, you might find it when you click my username.
Uncomfortable (that is an understatement!) as it is, these feelings you experience are a side effect of your hormones trying to rebalance. The palpitations, rapid heart beat, nausea etc. are all caused by physiological changes in your body and it is not you going mad. I found acupuncture very helpful in getting my periods on the go again. Also I have monthly sessions with a herbalist, whose medicine I take every day. It mainly consists of liver support, adrenal support, hormone balancing herbs. It is something that just takes time unfortunately. Also what I find helpful is to keep a diary (mine is an excel spreadsheet) with all your symptoms per day of your cycle. That way you can see a pattern in your symptoms and it makes you realise again it is not you, it is your hormones.
Ride it out and reach out to family and friends, I've been feeling very needy. I just had three really good weeks and now a bad week again. And I saw in my diary that this happened last month at the same time. Apparently the nausea is caused by low levels of estrogen, this also causes over stimulation of the heart, hence the rapid heart beat. Just be kind to yourself and say: This too shall pass. Most GP's seem totally unaware of removal problems.
Hope you feel better soon but realise it is not a quick process.
