A+ for effort~!

I have been following the unconventional
path of alternative medicine now full time
for 11 years. Prior to that, it was what my
elders taught me that they knew that were
my gems of natural healing. I also have had
many ask me for advice and it is those who
are seeking who are best helped, as like me,
and you, they are looking for themselves.

There have been others who it was easy to
suggest things to who made excuses why
they could not do something and of course,
there were others who took that advice and
found their minds changed for the better
relative to alternative methods. I like
to remind others that our elders ways did
work and that many modern medicines were
made in labs to mimic the effects of the
herbs and roots our elders used for healing.

A few years back now, my neighbor was on
the way to the doctor for yet another
round of Antibiotics . She had missed her
appointment however and was facing a weekend
of misery. I gave her a bottle of Olive
Leaf and by Monday her infection was knocked
down. Three years later, as she is proud to
say, she has yet to step foot again in a
doctors office when prior, it was a constant
habit of getting sinus infections and going
for drugs to knock it down. Slowly, as she
asks me for more info I offer her more. For
the most part though, only a small fraction
are ready to take responsibility for their
own healing and health management. I have
been more successful in suggesting things
like switching from aluminum cans to glass,
or from Aspartame to Stevia and other small
changes people can make. Those who do and
the seeds of change find fertile ground do
go on to explore other options, although in
my experience it is more the exception than
the rule. What I would suggest is to do what
you feel comfortable doing to help, since I
have found that it makes me feel better to
speak up in many instances and make the offer.
If someone chooses not to use my suggestion
I feel comfortable knowing I expressed the
option. I do not take it personally if the
friend or family member decides to go their
own direction. In allowing them their freedom,
I take for myself the freedom to make my own
choices and expect to be respected and not
beat down for it. I know when I had my own
major health crisis, many thought I was making
a huge mistake and I did have to fight for
the right to choose my own way. I suppose this
is why I understand how others could find it
difficult to leave their comfort zone or give
up their trust in doctors. I put my trust in
doctors for 8 years and only after facing a
lot of disappointment turned the corner and
took the hand of a friend of mine who said
very gently and with great confidence, "Zoe,
there is another way...". I had to jettison
many aspects of my old lifestyle and learn
new ways to reclaim my health but it has made
all the difference and I feel blessed that
people like you did take the chance to leave
info for me. In my first visits here to Curezone,
I was interested in Liver Flushing because I
had taken prescriiptions for so many years I
knew I needed to work on my liver. I really
found what Hanna wrote to be so influential
for me. I went on to find many other posters
whose decision to post what worked for them
further illuminated the way for me. I consider
these the unsung heroes of Curezone. I have also
found many posts in the archives from years ago
and have gleaned important pieces of information
I needed to fill in a part of my own health puzzle.
I think the work you have done will stand in this
forum as a beacon and those who have the eyes to
see it, looking for light to their kidney issues,
will take what they need and most of all, perhaps
be inspired to keep on keeping on.

Do not give up on your friend either. Often it
takes a little time to find new comfort zones
and your friend also has to be able to live with
their choice, one way or another. Things change
though, and so do people. I am proud of you that
you cared enough to try and make a difference.
I give you an A+ for effort~!

be happy, be well,
Zoe
